Some of the best stories involve young people. In this episode Vanbee and Corkle share funny stories about students provided by listeners of The Open Campus Podcast.  From junior high football, to writing prompts, to kissing your mom…hard.  This podcast is a ton of fun.

The things that happen to us may not always be our fault, but we must be the ones to take responsibility for how we handle whatever life throws at us. As adults, it is our job to model this behavior and teach the children in our lives that we cannot control what others do – but we can control ourselves, our actions, and the decisions we make. On this week’s episode, Corkle and Vanbee discuss the Responsibility/Fault Fallacy (as termed by author Mark Manson). Sometimes it is difficult for us to separate these two terms, but in order to make the world a better place, we must recognize and act on the difference. With help from Mark Manson (author of The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F**k) and Will Smith (actor and inspirational dude), we talk about fault vs. responsibility.

Corkle and Vanbee make a list of their favorite quotes and discuss why each is so meaningful to them. Vanbee debutes her “Corkle’s Korrections Korner” jingle, while Corkle has his first correction of a Korrections Korner.

In this episode Vanbee and Corkle interview Junior/Senior High School principal Corey Fisher. Together they discuss what makes the culture of a community and a school system. Their conversation centers around observations made through their roles as educators. Additionally, Corkle discusses the impetus for creating the Open Campus Podcast and Vanbee reveals her struggles with caffeine and being teacher tired.
