A friend asked me recently why I was able to be successful in my sales career quickly. I told her it was simple. I was always trying to grow and learn as a sales person. I was constantly reading, listening to podcasts, going to conferences, asking questions, and trying to figure out ways I could grow. If we live our life out of a place of humbleness, knowing that we have a lot to learn, we will always do what it takes to grow.

I've realized recently that I have been limiting myself on what I can accomplish right now. I few have challenged me on why I am not doing more and creating more then I have been. The only reason I could give them was I was limiting myself. So my challenge to you is whatever you are not pursuing or not doing because of a limited self belief to just go and do it because you are better then what you think you are! Many times we feel like the person we are talking to, the audience we are presenting to, or the people we are trying to sell to should just give us their attention. The problem with that is very few times will someone just give you their undivided attention therefore you must learn how to engage people and capture their attention. A personal motto of mine is "I am not entitled to your attention." This motto forces me to think about ways to capture peoples attention and engage them. I want to do this because I believe in my message and my product and if I cant capture your attention then I cant impact you in anyway.

This year (2018) approximately 1.9 million bachelor degrees will be awarded in the United States. Thats a lot of people getting the same degree as you not to mention the 100+ million people already in the marketplace working who also have a bachelors degree. What is going to separate you from the rest? Your degree will not make you successful, it does not guarantee a certain job, and it certainly does not mean you will make a lot of money. Its going to be your willingness to fail, learn, take risks, how hard you work, your drive, determination, and most importantly your ability to work with people that will make you successful and allow you to grow in your career.
