  • WHY DON'T YOU CONSIDER YOU? Ep 37

A lack of consideration can breed comfort.

In Episode 37, we turn the idea of consideration inward and asks a difficult question: if it hurts when other people fail to consider us, why don't we respond the same way when we're the ones failing to consider ourselves?

From self-belief and complacency to patience, perception and recalibration, this episode explores what happens when familiar patterns stop feeling like the only possible way forward.

There are no neat answers here. Just questions worth sitting with.

Why didn't I see what I was capable of?

How much of what controls me is simply what I've become familiar with?

And if my voice was always there, what changed?

Stay curious, stay kind, stay connected.

  • Moving at the Pace of the Slowest Person

What happens when you stop trying to make everyone move at your pace?

This week on The Ordinary Connection, we explore the idea of moving at the pace of the slowest person — not as manipulation, waiting for your way, or forcing yourself to stop, but as an exercise in understanding.

We talk about silence, group dynamics, leadership, safety, comparison and what happens when slowing down gives everything you've been avoiding enough time to catch up with you.

Along the way, I realise how familiar I've become with shrinking myself, how often we silence ourselves without noticing, and how sometimes we try to teach people lessons before understanding why we're so determined for them to learn.

We also talk about failure, finding your voice, the difference between recognising a problem and knowing what to do with it, and why being further ahead doesn't automatically make you right.

Maybe we're all moving at different speeds.

    Maybe that's okay.

The question is whether we're actually part of the same pack — and if we are, whether we can learn to move together without trying to control where everyone else is going.

Stay curious. Stay kind. Stay connected.

  • To Be Better, You Have to Do Better Every Day

What does it actually mean to get better?

Not perfect. Not always right. Not suddenly transformed into a completely different person.

Just better at doing the things you've decided matter.

In this episode, we talk about what happens after you've learned a lesson — because learning something isn't necessarily the same as knowing how to use it. And sometimes, the harder question is whether the lesson you learned was even the right one.

We get into self-accountability, communication, failure, people-pleasing and the difference between wanting to be better and expecting someone else to make you better. We also spend some time on apologies, because saying “sorry” doesn't necessarily repair anything if you don't understand what you're apologising for.

From there, the conversation moves into rupture and repair, and the importance of actually practising the things we claim to believe in.

    And then there's something new.

Night-time Notions is officially introduced — a longer-form experiment where past episodes, past versions of me and present-day perspective get put in the same room. Because maybe understanding who we are isn't about leaving our past selves behind. Maybe it's about finally being willing to sit with them and ask whether we still agree.

Plus this week's music, writing prompts, and a few thoughts about what might be coming next.

You don't have to get everything right.

You just have to keep trying.

  • Pursuit isn't passive

I've been thinking about what that actually means.

This week I'm talking about success, ambition, silence and the uncomfortable process of becoming more aware of yourself.

I've taken a vow of silence, and somehow not speaking has taught me more about conversation than talking ever did.

What happens when you stop filling the silence?

How much of what you say actually matters to you?

How much of it is about what you think other people expect from you?

And what happens when you choose to be real instead of being right?

This episode is about pursuit—but it ends up being just as much about healing, safety, self-awareness and the strange ways we sometimes get in our own way.

Because knowing what you need to do isn't the same as doing it.

    And healing isn't passive either.

  • Why We Confuse Obsession With Love | The Ordinary Connection Podcast

This week I learned a word that quietly rearranged the way I think.

    Limerence.

At first it sounded like another psychology term, but the deeper I looked, the more I realised I'd spent years calling something by the wrong name.

That led me to wonder how many of our experiences remain confusing simply because we've never had the language to describe them.

We talk about limerence, uncertainty, trust, childhood memories, and why the smallest moments sometimes become the lessons that shape the rest of our lives.

I also share this week's music recommendations, an anime recommendation, and introduce a new way for you to become part of the conversation.

As always, thank you for spending part of your week with me.

  • Slow Down... You Might Finally Notice Yourself | The Ordinary Connection Podcast

This week I wanted to try something different.

    Not a different topic—but a different pace.

I've realised that somewhere along the way I started speaking so quickly that I wasn't leaving enough space for my own thoughts to breathe. So this episode became an exercise in slowing down, paying attention, and asking better questions.

Inspired by Siddhartha, I found myself reflecting on what it really means to become "empty." Not empty in the sense of feeling nothing, but empty enough that the outside world no longer dictates who you become.

We talk about emotional regulation, attachment, mirrors, growth, and the quiet discipline of practising every day—even when it feels uncomfortable.

As always, we end with this week's music recommendations, an anime recommendation, and a brand-new writing prompt for anyone creating alongside the podcast.

Thank you for slowing down with me.

  • The Axe Forgets... But The Tree Remembers | The Ordinary Connection Podcast

This week began with a simple question inspired by an old proverb:

"The axe forgets what the tree remembers."

The more I sat with it, the more I wondered whether we spend our lives trying to explain our pain to people who were never taught to recognise it in the first place.

Maybe we aren't speaking the same emotional language.

In this episode, I reflect on the stories we inherit, the people who unknowingly shape us, and the idea that growth isn't just about becoming stronger—it's about understanding what we're carrying and choosing what we plant next.

We explore trust, responsibility, family, community, sacrifice, and whether healing begins when we stop asking who was right and start asking what someone else remembers.

As always, we end with this week's music recommendations and a brand new writing prompt for anyone who wants to create alongside the podcast.

Thank you for spending part of your week with me.

  • You Don't Have to Earn Rest | The Ordinary Connection Podcast

After spending so much of our lives trying to earn success, rest, and happiness, we sometimes forget that we're allowed to enjoy life exactly where we are.

Episode 29 explores curiosity, play, creativity, and the quiet permission to stop measuring your worth by your productivity.

We talk about slowing down, embracing the ordinary, and finding meaning in the moments that don't need to become achievements.

  • Episode 28: The Moon Doesn’t Make Its Own Light 🌙

    After a 60-day break, we’re back.

This episode begins with a poetry prompt about the moon and the secret she keeps — a reflection on identity, connection, and the way we sometimes only appreciate things when they are at their brightest.

We talk about cycles, consequences, growth, and the hidden battles people carry. About how understanding someone means seeing more than just the version they show when everything is going well.

Sometimes the thing affecting someone isn’t the obvious thing. Sometimes people aren’t boring — they’re surviving. Sometimes we all need space to understand ourselves again.

    This episode explores:

    • Seeing people through all their phases
    • Learning from consequences
    • Finding your way back after losing momentum
    • Making space for yourself
    • The difference between knowing and applying lessons
