This episode I heard from Alessandro, who has given so much to dodgeball in Italy. He started Empoli Swarm and is looking to expand dodgeball throughout Tuscany as much as possible. He's also a coach for the national team and heavily involved in youth dodgeball. We covered a lot this episode, and I'm sure I barely scratched the surface. This interview came at such a serendipitous time, and Alessandro was exactly the right person who could answer an important question for a friend. One of the most exciting episodes for me since the podcast began.

This episode I heard from Emma, in Taiwan. She was kind enough to talk to me about how the dodgeball we know is quite new to Taiwan, and how she joined in the first wave of players in 2021.

This episode I heard from the organisers of an Open event which occurred recently. I learned about everything that went into organising this event and what inspired it. We also got into what dodgeball means to us. Mostly, these are two of the most charming guests I've ever had, and in a constant fight against my annual PTO, I hope to attend the Oranje Open in person one day if circumstances allow.

This episode I spoke to Ahmed, from Saudi Arabia. We discussed the relatively new, but growing, scene in Riyadh, and talked a lot about how much joy dodgeball has brought both of us.

Since this episode was recorded, many world events have occurred, and I was able to reach out to Ahmed to check in with him. It was a reminder that this sport is able to connect us to people all over the world, which makes distant events on the other side of the globe all the more real.

This episode I heard from Garrett, who has had a hand in many aspects of the dodgeball world. We got to touch on many of them, but I came away feeling I'd just scraped the surface.

This week, we visit a new country. I was so charmed by Jakub's passion for dodgeball and how big his dreams are. We touched on the national team, what dodgeball looks like in Czechia, and his participation in the Austrian league. I hope one day we can meet like we said we would in the episode, as I really want to visit Prague again one day.

In this episode, I go back to my roots to hear from Lauryn, who began University Dodgeball New Zealand. As a former university club president myself, it was a joy to hear everything she's been up to, have her ask me questions in return, and connect as two players from opposite sides of the world.

This week I'm back to Alberta after 28 episodes! I'm joined by Jarvis: director by day, and dodgeball player... later in the day. He speaks about how his relatively new club has seen success in national and local competitions. We even speculate on what a modern Dodgeball Movie could look like.

This episode, I hear from Alex about how he started his own dodgeball club and his experiences on the South African national team. We talk about how South Africa has moved to the WDBF and a lot about what the future of dodgeball across the globe might look like.

This episode I heard from Leo, who founded dodgeball in Chile. It was amazing to hear what a success he's had at bringing in people from all over Chile to play this sport. He also covered their trip to Worlds in 2024 and how they're preparing for the upcoming Panamerican Championships in Santiago. A brilliant start to this next batch of episodes.
