The Mecca of Comedy: The Rise of Stand up comedy in Washington DC, is a documentary that focuses around the fact that Washington, DC (or the DMV) is home to several of the biggest names in comedy (Wanda Sykes, Dave Chappelle, Martin Lawrence, Tommy Davidson). The documentary will chronicle the unique journey of comedians from the DMV to superstardom, while exploring how/why the DC area has produced so many comedy legends
