When I was in aviation, there were warning signs that something was wrong. Many times crash investigators found that pilots trusted their instincts over the warning indicators to the pilot’s peril. God gives us similar warnings. We need to heed them so we may flourish.

What an insidious trap the enemy sets for us. We can break free and live the life that pleases God.

The early church fathers wrote extensively about how we are to behave as believers. Peter explains why this is important.

If we value Scripture, we will see that there is a call to preach accompanied with an anointing for those who would respond to the call. If we honor that call and anointing, we can see the fruit in our lives.

I have sensed a season of unmerited favor that God wants to release but we have to figure how to position ourselves to receive it. We live such disembodied spirituality, that it is hard for us to understand what it means to walk in the blessing. We are going to figure this out together.

I have found it hard to articulate the drawing I am sensing from Holy Spirit. This past Sunday I tried to articulate it as well as I could before anointing everyone in the church with oil. I want everyone to experience this because I believe God wants to satisfy the deepest longings of our souls.

In the church calendar this Sunday we celebrated the baptism of our Lord. Jesus didn’t need baptized. He had no sin. But the baptism He offers is one of a new beginning. We need that baptism and it’s available today.
