This week, we’re diving into some truly chaotic Reddit stories. From a groom hiring a magician to crash his own wedding as a prank, to a mother-in-law confessing that her husband isn’t actually the biological father of her son because she’s terrified of an upcoming DNA test...

We also debate whether it’s wrong to make a 12-year-old pay their portion of a family vacation, and whether someone should tell their partner they converted to a completely different religion.

I’m joined by Abigail again and we are diving into some absolutely chaotic Reddit stories.

From a friend’s boyfriend joking about burning someone’s pet tarantulas (???) to neighbors who keep flipping over a spooky doormat, things escalate quickly. We also get into a tough dilemma: should you warn your husband if his parents are planning a surprise visit you know he wouldn’t want?

Plus, is it wrong to ask for a refund after finding out your counselor lied about being faith-based? And is a wife a the asshole for not making her husband listen to them?

In this episode, we’re diving into some truly chaotic Reddit stories.

We discuss whether it’s weird to tell your mother-in-law way too much about your relationship, if someone was wrong for laughing when a kid swallowed an AirPod, and a VERY uncomfortable joke involving a cousin that did not land.

We also get into family drama, including a mother-in-law who posted wedding photos without the bride, and whether it’s fair to expect guests to pitch in $100 for Thanksgiving dinner.

One man is trying to figure out how to move forward when his girlfriend is insisting on apartments in the 9 to 15 thousand dollar range, while another woman is completely burnt out after having a baby because her husband suddenly can’t do anything without asking her step by step questions. We also talk about a breakup after a boyfriend has a sudden religious shift that turns into judgment, control, and tension with friends.

We also revisit two past stories with updates, including the man who faked having a job for eight months and the husband who was acting out his wife’s romance books. And of course, we share a couple of big life moments, including my upcoming birthday and Brandon graduating from college.

Bethany Joy (a past Healed-ish guest) joins me to react to some wild and messy Reddit stories. We get into purity culture and a husband who said his wife’s virginity didn’t matter, a destination wedding dilemma, and what to do when someone calls themselves your husband’s “work wife.”

We also talk about whether it’s ever okay to tell your sister she brought her situation on herself after a series of bad choices. Lots of opinions, lots of chaos, and definitely some moments where you’re going to pick a side.

In this episode of The Overshare Hour, we’re reacting to some of the most chaotic, uncomfortable, and oddly relatable Reddit stories we could find.

We get into a situation where a boyfriend has been secretly getting cash back on his girlfriend’s card without telling her, and whether that crosses the line into something more serious. We also unpack a complicated family dynamic involving a sister who slept with her sibling’s boyfriend and never apologized, and whether that’s something you’re expected to move on from.

There’s also a story that genuinely shocked us involving moldy blended spaghetti (yes, really), plus a debate about family vacations and whether it’s reasonable for parents to refuse to let you share a bed with your partner.

Along the way, Bran and I share a life update about a new film club we found in our city, and I talk about Indy getting her eye scratched this week :(
