We also debate who we think had the best and worst performances in Week 1 of the NFL season. Dorm Discussions makes its return as I give my early takeaways from Round 1 of the NBA Playoffs. There have been some incredible storylines early in the playoffs, and I try to break it all down. Also, the Minnesota Wild lost in game 7 to the Vegas Golden Knights. Stick around until the end for a brief segment recapping the season for the Wild. 

In today's episode of Dorm Discussions by SportsUnleashed, we discuss our expectations for the Timberwolves under new head coach Chris Finch. Finch is widely regarded as one of the great offensive minds in the NBA and his history with Gerrison Rosas will hopefully pay dividends for the struggling Wolves. Some people around the Association were unhappy with the Wolves hiring process of Finch, as they passed up on longtime assistant coach David Vanterpool who is already on their coaching staff. We discuss if that has been overblown at all or if people have the right to be upset. We also discuss the recent news of Malik Beasley receiving a 12-game suspension from the NBA. 

Son of beloved former Timberwolves Coach Flip Saunders, Ryan Saunders has been relieved of his duties as head coach of the Minnesota Timberwolves. Minnesota announced their hiring of Chris Finch, an assistant head coach for the Toronto Raptors, for the head coaching position the same night that they fired Saunders. Jack and I discuss what this means for the Timberwolves going forward, and if they can finally turn things around as a franchise.

In these episodes it will just be me giving my reaction to anything in the sports world or the real world that has struck me. Today I give my thoughts on the James Harden trade that landed him in Brooklyn with Kyrie and KD, as well as the player empowerment era and the current state of the NBA.

We also discuss whether or not we think the Big Ten made the right decision by changing the rules to allow Ohio State in the Big Ten championship game, and if they deserve a spot in the College Football Playoffs. The Big Ten-ACC challenge for College Basketball began a couple days ago, and it has been more proof that the Big Ten is definitively the best conference in College Basketball this season. There is a growing feeling of uncertainty around the NCAA pushing through football and basketball season and some high-profile coaches have started to question the leadership of the NCAA. Jake also gives his dark horse contender for the NBA title this year, and we discuss Kyrie Irving and his media antics to start the year. 

In today's episode I am joined again by Jack Breen. Should the Twins re-sgin Eddie Rosario? We discuss that as well as the Twins chances to finally snap their 18-game postseason losing streak. We also discuss who we think won the Russell Westbrook-John Wall trade and what it means for the Rockets and Wizards, respectively.
