Check out our pre show peek with Angela here
Welcome to The Soberoso™ Podcast where we invite guests and listeners from around the world to join us in “Sharing Our Passion For Recovery.”
If you are an old timer in recovery, a newcomer, sober curious or a loved one of someone who struggles with alcoholism, addiction or mental health issues this show is for you.
Each Tuesday we bring you a brand new episode where our grateful host Dora either shares what's on her mind or interviews a guest with Q & A’s regarding what life was like before and after finding recovery.
We are real people who have overcome incredible odds to turn our lives around and are passionate about tearing down the stigmas around alcoholism and addiction by speaking our truth and getting heard.
YOU can help us raise awareness around addiction and alcoholism by sharing our episodes on your own personal social media platforms making it easier to talk about these issues that affect millions of families around the world.
Angela recently celebrated TEN years clean and sober and is recovering from alcohol, pills and P.T.S.D. Every year she learns more about herself and dives deeper into her own recovery. She is now a Licensed Addiction Professional/Counselor and clinical supervisor, advocate for COD recovery.
Angela shares her experience as a teenager overdosing and filling the void with drugs and alcohol and her rock bottom when she was appointed the designated driver for the night and she couldn't not drink. She wound up drunk and throwing up in the bathroom, banging her head on the toilet and giving herself a concussion later coming in and out of consciousness and a blackout on the drive home.
She now works with other alcoholics and addicts as a professional. Angela tells us of how the pre-pandemic looked in her field with drug overdose and how the numbers have increased since the pandemic hitting overdose records in the last six months. How Substance abuse treatment centers are only operating at ¼ or ½ capacity due to the restrictions at a time when overdose is at ultimate highs.
Angela appreciates music even more in sobriety. AFI and Fallout Boy are still her favorite artists.
