Paul In Cyprus

In Antioch there are a group of prophets and teachers hanging around, but God singles out Barnabas and Saul for some special duties.The pair head over to Cyprus where they run into a Jewish false prophet named Bar-Jesus.When the Roman governor in the area asks Saul and Barnabas to come chat with him about Jesus, Bar-Jesus tells the governor that they're just spewing lies. Oh, Bar-Jesus.Saul (who, did we mention, is better known as Paul?) tells Bar-Jesus that he's a terrible, awful, no good guy and that he's gonna be blind for a while. It matches his spiritual blindness.Sure enough, Bar-Jesus goes blind and the governor believes that what Saul/Paul said about Jesus must be true. After all, if you can blind a guy, you must be holy, right?

Paul In Galatia

Paul and friends leave Cyprus and head to Galatia where they head straight for the synagogue. The religious officials there invite them to speak (this is a first).Paul stands up and gives a little speech about the history of the Jewish people leading up to King David. From David, Paul claims, comes Jesus, who is the fulfillment of everything God has ever promised the Jewish people. Yay!Of course, the folks down in Jerusalem didn't realize this (even though it was obvious) and they had Jesus put to death on trumped up charges.Paul ends by telling that they can free themselves from sin if they put their faith in Jesus (and, of course, God).

Chad & Alta Dillard met and married in the early nineties in the city of Little Rock Arkansas. The marriage was one of destiny and as Alta would say, arranged. What they did not know is that from that moment on the couple would partake in a journey into the world of unknown and High Strangeness. From aliens to ghosts, to a shape shifter, from meeting people who have been seen, and some unseen, this is a story for the open minded. Moving to Denver, Colorado for their jobs, and found themselves in the middle of the infamous Columbine High School massacre which occurred on April 20, 1999. In 2001 the couple found their way to Alabama where Chad works with his dad in the locomotive business. Their stay continues to bring High Strangeness into their lives. They discovered a sasquatch creature, ghosts, red orbs, lizard monkeys and so much more. This week is Acts chapter 11 Peter Explains His Actions

 The apostles and the believers throughout Judea heard that the Gentiles also had received the word of God. So when Peter went up to Jerusalem, the circumcised believers criticized him and said, “You went into the house of uncircumcised men and ate with them.”

 Starting from the beginning, Peter told them the whole story:  “I was in the city of Joppa praying, and in a trance I saw a vision. I saw something like a large sheet being let down from heaven by its four corners, and it came down to where I was.  I looked into it and saw four-footed animals of the earth, wild beasts, reptiles and birds.  Then I heard a voice telling me, ‘Get up, Peter. Kill and eat.’

Gentiles Are Accepted

Back in Judea, word reaches the apostles and Jewish followers of Jesus that Peter has been baptizing Gentiles. The horror!Later, when Peter comes back into town, he has some 'splaining to do.Peter tells them all about the vision and that God said unclean things are now a-okay.He explains that it was God who let the Holy Spirit fall on the Gentiles while he was speaking. What was Peter supposed to do?Stop God from giving out his gifts? Good luck with that.The other apostles are speechless, but then they realize this is actually a great thing. God wants to save everyone.

Steve Allen  is our guest tonight. On January 8, 2008, Stephenville gained national media attention when dozens of residents reported observations of unidentified flying objects (UFOs). Several residents described the crafts as the size of a football field, while others said they were nearly a mile long, similar to the historic Arizona mass sighting of March 13, 1997. Some observers reported military aircraft pursuing the objects. CNN's Larry King covered the news story in the days following the incident, and according to Steve Allen, a private pilot who witnessed the UFO, the object was travelling at a high rate of speed which supposedly reached 3,000 feet in the air. Allen said it was "About a half a mile wide and about a mile long. It was humongous, whatever it was". (wikipedia) The History Channel show UFO Hunters featured a story about the UFO sightings. "In mid January, 2008 reports of a mass UFO sighting over Stephenville, Texas began to make national news. Much like the Phoenix Lights Case of 1997, the mysterious lights appearing in the Texas sky were seen by multiple witnesses including police officers. However, much of the interest was created by the proximity of the sightings to President Bush’s Texas ranch. Although the military initially stated that there were no jets flying in the area that night, they later recanted and stated that a training flight of 10 fighters was actually in the skies. The incident inspired one of the largest MUFON investigations to date and yielded radar information that is considered by many to confirm that an unknown object was flying over Texas. The incident was featured in a number of national news stories and by several television shows". (M. Tonight for our Monday Night Special we present Director Giovanni Sticco. We will be discussing his career and his new project 51, The Movie. Giovanni was born in Hollywood, California,  the son of famous Rockabilly singer Johnny Stark.  Giovanni has been involved in film for a number of years dealing with subjects such as Horror,  Science Fiction and Dramatic films.  His credits include The Encounter,  Resurrection Cemetery Lust and The Visitors.   Giovanni presently works in Las Vegas and has a small production company Hollywood Tower Productions LLC.

The Gentile challenge

Luke now begins to tell the story of a fundamental turning point in the history of the early church. For the first time Gentiles will be directly evangelized and admitted into fellowship with Jewish Christians. As a result, the church will not remain just an offshoot of an ethnic religion (Judaism). It will become a universal body embracing people from every nation and race. Luke takes great pains to show that this change in the church is the result of God’s will and guidance. It does not come about through some human-devised program. This section shows that God, through the Holy Spirit, is bringing the Gentiles into his spiritual body, the church. We will see this in verse after verse describing the account of Cornelius’ conversion as a supernatural operation of God.
