There was a post on Threads that blew up.

A 15-year-old was talking about his first trip to Japan and used trendy Gen Z buzzwords to make a joke, he was making fun of himself.

But a lot of grown-ups didn’t catch the tone.

They thought he was seriously trying to act superior just because he went to Japan.

Then different people started leaving comments like, “I brought my child to Japan when she was one.” They completely missed the joke and started comparing with each other instead. ((🫣 As a grown-up, I felt secondhand embarrassment.))
