As we learn to live the life of Jesus' kingdom, much of our growth comes through choices we make - choices to serve, to give, to be present. The path to Easter reminds us that sometimes growth only comes on the other side of something we'd never choose, on the other side of death.

Heading towards Easter, Jesus shows us that if there is one thing that needs to die before him, it is our agendas.

Lent begins this Wednesday – though for many of us it may feel like it began on some Wednesday back in 2020 and has never ended. How can we find hope in this season of languishing?

In a world where we have forgotten how to love each other, God’s love can be hard to see and not just for others but for us as well—this can be remedied.

We are told to love our neighbour as ourselves. But for some of us, that first step – of self-love – seems daunting.

As humans we just don’t need to learn how to love, apparently we also need to learn who to love.  It really wasn’t supposed to be as complicated as we have made it, but that doesn’t mean it was meant to be easy either.

Our image of God may have many layers created by a mix of happy and heartbreaking experiences, helpful and misleading teaching. But what if, after we scrape away all those images, what we find is love?
