Today, we end our summer series. Over the past 10 weeks, we've studied the life of Paul and two of his important letters--Galatians and Romans. Paul was a complex man whose leadership and teaching continue to impact our lives and the life of the church. He's also a man that stirs debate and leaves us with questions. Today, we take your questions about Paul and his teaching.

We're taught from childhood about the "survival of the fittest," and that "only the strong survive." Life together, though requires a completely different outlook. Paul teaches us that our lives together reverse any ideas we carry around about power and weakness. If we want to live as the Body of Christ, bound by grace, then maybe it’s time we all became a little bit weaker.

Today we begin a two week look at what Paul teaches us about doing life "together"--with other followers of Christ and with people who don't follow Christ. Paul was adamant that the grace we've received should shape us in some specific ways. What's shaping you? What shape is your life taking? Paul gives us a clear description of the the shape our lives are to take together.

At the beginning of Romans Chapter 8 Paul reminds us, “We are set free from the law of sin and death.” This is an amazing statement. At first it gives us such a warm feeling, but then we collide with reality. We wonder how long will it last. We look around and see suffering, complaints and corruption. Where is this release? At the heart of the chapter Paul addresses our misgivings and offers what to expect while dealing with the here and now.

Paul gets personal in Romans 7. He asks the question we all ask ourselves at some point. "Why can't I do what I know I need to do?" There are moments in life when we disappoint ourselves and others by doing or saying the wrong thing. Then we're left with the fall-out, anger, or the guilt. Paul knows that's the trap we all live in. But here, Paul offers us a way out.

We celebrate our country's freedom as we hear Paul define true freedom -- the freedom offered in Christ.

Paul used simple images to help us understand difficult theological topics. In Galatians 3 & 4, he teaches us a new truth about our relationship with God—a change that will release you to new life.
