Welcome to The Jimbo Paris Show #37- Acceptance, Self-discovery and Soul Healing. (Fatima Oliver)
This episode will lead us to our journey of self-discovery & acceptance by challenging insecurity, anxiety, and depression from childhood trauma, heartbreak, and physical abuse.
“It is okay to not be okay. But it is not okay to remain that way.”
“A victim-mentality must change to a victor mindset.” – Fatima Oliver
At an early age, Fatima became emphatically convinced pain and family was synonymous. Living with the trauma from physical and sexual abuse, the loss of a child, abandonment issues, horrible decision making and long complicated relationship with anxiety and depression.
Fatima grew up the only girl with 5 brothers. Her mother was a single Parent and was tough as nails. At the age of two she was recovering from burns on 25% of her body. By the age of ten she was emphatically convinced pain and family was synonymous. One Stepfather beat Fatima and her brother for sport. Another violated her in a way she had never experienced and it took 34 years to confront the pain of it all. These mentionable' s, alongside the death of a child, abandonment issues, physical abuse from a spouse, and an inherited blood disorder effecting her son eventually sent her spiraling.
It took over 36 years before finding the courage to change her life. The journey to finding herself and accepting who God created her to be, birthed some key baby steps that have helped her mature in her healing journey.
The entire journey birthed an inspirational memoir titled, "The Prescription is in the Dirt". Now Available in Paperback and eBook version on Amazon.com. A Self-published love that has gained incredible responses. Throughout Fatima’s journey, she learned about the three key foundations she believes she is meant to share.

Welcome to The Jimbo Paris Show #36- The Path of Holistic Skin Care. (Heidi Cooper)
This episode will support us to address the connection of our lifestyle, our diet and supplementation as it associates to our skin.
“We are all here for a specific purpose. My purpose, I believe, is to help the people that come to see me really fulfill their purpose and live their best life.”
– Heidi Cooper
Heidi Cooper is a Master Esthetician and a Certified Natural Health Functional Medicine Practitioner who has been in practice for over 25 years. After struggling with her own skin challenges as a teenager, she was introduced to an Esthetician who utilized a natural approach. It included dietary changes that yielded results as opposed to the ineffective symptom cover up approach through the conventional treatment she received.
During her first 10 years in practice, Heidi used the same practices learned from her Esthetics mentor with great success. Then something changed, almost simultaneously, the challenge with obtaining those same prior results clinically in the treatment room and Heidi’s own health and hormonal issues
coincided. This prompted Heidi to obtain additional education in Functional Medicine (root
cause) and utilize this approach in her practice.
It is the culmination of these years of education and clinical experience that has proven to be effective and culminated in the information Heidi now shares with her clients and on social media.
Formerly Regional Esthetics Educator for the Life Spa at Life Time Fitness. Received the coveted Life Spa National Artistry Award for Esthetics a record 18 consecutive quarters, ranking #1 in the nation annually in 2009, 2011, and 2012 out of over 300 Estheticians nationwide.

Welcome to The Jimbo Paris Show #35- Resilience in the Face of Adversity (Eric Christiansen)
In this episode, we will know more about Eric’s deep why on creating his amazing films.
“I decided then that this was my calling. I would make films chronicling recovery from trauma beginning with a documentary about the fire that had wiped the slate clean for me”
– Eric Christiansen
Christiansen is an acclaimed documentarian who has built his brand around socially responsible filmmaking that educates, inspires and heals. Christiansen, a seven-time Southwestern Region Emmy Award recipient, explores the impact of trauma, the resilience of the human spirit, and how a powerful platform for hope can be built to help trauma survivors begin the vigilant journey of healing. A trauma survivor himself, Christiansen worked through the loss of his home and possessions in the Painted Cave Fire by creating his first film Faces in the Fire 25 years ago.
All of his films (Faces in the Fire, Homecoming: A Vietnam Vets Journey, Searching for Home: Coming Back from War) have been transformative in the recovery process for thousands of people whose lives have been compromised mentally, spiritually and physically by trauma. Leveraged as educational tools by top mental health institutions, Christiansen's films migrate from the entertainment arena into environments that help additional audiences navigate the profound collateral damage trauma creates not only on the individual but the family and community as well.
"Searching for Home" is strikingly photographed by Mr. Christiansen and is sure to give comfort and support to countless veterans and their families.” the New York Times said prophetically of Eric's most recent work, "Searching for Home: Coming Back from War", a critical, audience and social success.
Eric directed, photographed and edited this film that brought the message of truth, healing and hope to millions. The film was first released theatrically then went on to public television with over 2300 airings in less than three years.
Anita Gates of the New York Times called Eric Christiansen’s documentary "Homecoming: A Vietnam Vets Journey, “a surpassingly worthy…touching film.” Eric’s other independent documentary, about grief recovery following a natural disaster, “Faces in the Fire” garnered critical acclaim including an Emmy Award for Outstanding Achievement Documentary. The film is still being used today by the National Institute of Mental Health for training counselors and comforting survivors.
Throughout his career, Christiansen has also created content for major networks including Discovery, TLC, PBS, MTV and an Imax film.

Welcome to The Jimbo Paris Show #33- Hope to Stroke Survivors (Marcia Moran)
In this episode we will be given the chance to understand what a stroke survivor is going through.
“If you are a stroke survivor, never give up. There has got to be some way somewhere.”
Marcia Moran is the expert to interview! Marcia Moran knew nothing about how to get “whole” after her stroke in 2014. She spent the next six years learning the answers to her particular stroke.
She had aphasia, a communication disorder that, if not cured by the second or third month of recovery, it is almost impossible to overcome. She nearly conquered it three-and-a-half-years poststroke, proving that you can sometimes find a different answer to your particular problem if you continue to look.
Marcia also had weakness on her right side, and the physical therapists did an excellent job guiding her through therapy while insurance lasted. But then what? She still wasn’t whole. She had to find her own way. Her way was writing the book Stroke FORWARD.

Welcome to The Jimbo Paris Show #30- A Very Important Meeting (April Dávila)
In this episode you’ll learn how to make your life be richer on things that makes us sincerely happy!
“Find some creative things in life to do and dive in!” - April Dávila
April Dávila is a fourth generation Californian. Her mother’s family established a dairy farm in the Sacramento Valley in the 1880s and her father’s family came from Oklahoma during the Dust Bowl. She has lived briefly in places as far flung as Ecuador, the Caribbean, and the Marshall Islands, but never found anywhere she loves more than California.
She studied marine biology at Scripps College with the aim of entering a steady, traditional profession, but her career as a scientist fizzled when she realized how much time she had to spend in the lab. Set adrift after graduation she made all of the obligatory, early-twenty-something poor choices (details forthcoming in the memoir she plans to write… never), but she did manage to do one thing well: she chose a wonderfully creative and super supportive partner to build her life with.
In 2007, while unemployed, pregnant, and living in student housing at Stanford (while her husband finished up his Master’s degree), Dávila began writing short stories. She had always loved writing, but never before considered it something she could do for a living. After her husband graduated and their daughter was born, they moved to the Silver Lake neighborhood of Los Angeles and she attended the Masters of Professional Writing program at the University of Southern California. She was three months pregnant with their second child when she graduated.
After two years of freelancing as a copywriter, she was hired full-time at a boutique marketing firm and then later as a technical writer at an engineering company. To keep writing fiction, she bought a coffee machine with a timer and set it to start brewing at 4:50 every morning so that she could write in the wee hours before the rest of the family woke. This went on for years.
In 2016 she quit her job to write full time. In 2017 her blog was listed by Writer’s Digest as one of the Best 101 Websites for Writers. In January of 2018 she finished her debut novel, 142 Ostriches, and found representation with Joel Gotler of the Intellectual Property Group. She is an attendee of the Squaw Valley Community of Writers and past resident at the Dorland Mountain Arts Colony. Her novel was published by Kensington Books in February of 2020.
Currently, Dávila writes from her home in La Cañada Flintridge, a small town just north of Los Angeles. She is a practicing Buddhist and a certified mindfulness instructor. She is a runner, swimmer, and half-hearted gardener. Together, she and her husband are doing their best to raise two hilarious, wicked-smart kids.
