I celebrated 2 years and 6 months with my girlfriend a few days ago and it got me reflecting about the past. When lockdown happened things went from "who's sleeping at who's" to "I can't wait to see you again." It absolutely sucked having my relationship swiped out from under me; but if things happened differently, I wouldn't have the relationship I have today. So yea, the past sucked but I'm thankful for it.

The Past Sucked, I'm Thankful For That

From the moment we develop sentience we are asked the daunting question: what do you want to be when you grow up?! Initially you say anything you think is cool and everybody gives a resounding awww! 

But then you grow up a little and things get serious. You start to- or TRY to hone in on the profession you desire and the person you want to be, but you really don't know what you want until you start pursuing it. 

You get into college, trade school, wherever you need to go, and might encounter- it fucking SUCKS pursuing this aspiration. And adulting is HARD. Maybe that aspiration wasn't even yours. We are products of our environment and everybody draws from inspiration. Maybe you looked at dad or mom and said I'm gonna grow up to be just. Like. Them.

Then you figure out, it's not that easy. Not easy becoming them or whatever you want to be. Cause as soon as you graduate you're applying to 200 plus places a month and only 5 declined. In short, This Life Shit Crazy

But don't worry, I'm trying to find my way just like you. And hopefully when you tune in, I can help.
