THE WORK OF THE LORD

Scripture: 1 Corinthians 15:58

Many people do not realize that ministry is work. When we truly understand that the work of the Lord is work, we will treat it with seriousness, commitment, and dedication.

Characteristics of a Job

1. A job takes your time. The work of God will require your time. We should be willing to give our time to God and not be surprised when serving God takes time.

Prayer takes time.

Rehearsals take time. All-night services take time. Evangelism takes time. Church activities take time. Do not consider it strange that the work of God is taking your time. It is work!

2. A job takes your energy. Serving God requires energy and commitment. There are times when you will have to sacrifice your comfort and convenience to do what God has called you to do.

3. A job takes your strength. There will be moments when serving God will require physical, mental, and spiritual strength. But as we give ourselves to God's work, He gives us the grace and strength to continue.

YOU MUST WORK FOR GOD Jesus demonstrated the importance of being committed to the Father's business: Luke 2:49 — “I must be about my Father's business.”

Ladies and gentlemen, you must be about your Father's business. God has given every believer a responsibility in His Kingdom. We are not called merely to attend church; we are called to work for God.

Numbers 1:1, 17There is a time and season to serve God, and one of the best times to give yourself fully to God's work is when you are young. SERVE GOD WHILE YOU ARE YOUNG

Do not wait until you are old before you begin to serve God. Your youth is not a limitation; it is an opportunity. In your 20s and beyond, you can still give your strength, time, talents, and energy to the work of God.

2 Chronicles 26:1The strength, energy, and opportunities you have today can be used for God's Kingdom.

Do not waste your strength on things that have no eternal value. Work for God while you have the time, the strength, and the opportunity. Conclusion

1 Corinthians 15:58 reminds us to be steadfast, immovable, and always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that our labor in the Lord is not in vain. Whatever you do for God is never wasted.

Your prayers are not wasted.

Your sacrifice is not wasted.

Your time is not wasted.

Your labour is not wasted.

Characteristics of Praise

What must a man do to walk in praise? Praise is not only something we offer when everything is going well. Praise is a lifestyle of faith, hope, and love. When we understand who God is, we can praise Him even in difficult seasons.1. Faith — Praise Out of Faith

A man will praise God when he believes Him.

Romans 4:17–21 talks about Abraham. God spoke to Abraham about something that, naturally speaking, looked impossible. Yet Abraham believed God and did not allow his circumstances to destroy his faith.

When God speaks, it may sometimes look impossible from the human perspective. But faith says, “If God has said it, He is able to bring it to pass.”

Therefore, praise God even when you can not see the solution yet. Praise is a faith booster. When you praise God in the midst of a difficult situation, you are.

THE WISDOM OF A SHEEP — PART 2The wisdom of a sheep is a wisdom that is dependent, teachable, obedient, and humble.

A sheep does not trust in its own strength or understanding; it depends on the shepherd for direction, protection, provision, and guidance.

When we learn to depend completely on the Lord, we will not lack what we need, because the Lord is our Shepherd.

A sheep that stays close to the shepherd is never without direction. Stay close to the Shepherd.

Trust His voice. Follow His leading. Walk in obedience.

For when the Lord is your Shepherd, you shall not want. Psalm 23:1 — “The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.”

The Importance of the Church Assembly
Scripture: 1 Thessalonians 2:18

"For we wanted to come to you—certainly I, Paul, did, again and again—but Satan blocked our way." (1 Thessalonians 2:18)

This verse shows how much the Apostle Paul valued gathering with fellow believers. Although he deeply desired to visit and worship with the church in Thessalonica, he explained that he had been hindered from doing so. His strong desire to be with them highlights the importance of the church assembly.

The church assembly is important because it provides believers with opportunities to worship God together, encourage one another, grow in faith through God's Word, and pray as one body. Gathering with other Christians strengthens unity, builds spiritual maturity, and reminds believers that they are part of the body of Christ.

Paul's disappointment at being unable to meet with the Thessalonian church demonstrates that Christian fellowship is not something to neglect. Even when obstacles arise, believers should continue to value and prioritize meeting together whenever possible. The church assembly is a place where faith is strengthened, burdens are shared, and God's people are equipped to live for Him.

Therefore, 1 Thessalonians 2:18 teaches that gathering with the church is precious and worth pursuing, even when challenges or opposition make it difficult.
