  • The Path to State and Local Sovereignty Episode 19: LCN Overpasses, Liberty Or Security, SecureVote.News, Scott Miller Goud Maragani HOAs

2024-09-17 KTalk Media 9:00 am "Path to State Sovereignty" Radio Talk Show on AM 1640

Ranch life vignette: While traveling long distances in the car, our Dad would say "We will get there faster if you go to sleep," which I now parrot with our grandchildren. When we approached an overpass on the freeway, we put our hands up to the roof of the car, believing that the overpass would fall on top of us if we didn't hold it up. It works!

Constitution Corner: Five reminders from our Founders about Liberty and Security. No such thing as "Liberty OR Security" (we are safe only if we are free). A massive national debt is a threat to national security. War is the greatest threat to liberty. That which is not just is not law. Relying on government to limit itself means it will always grow.

SecureVote.News: Record turnover among election officials. Whistleblower says Harris got questions before the debate with Trump. Widespread problems with USPS could disrupt voting. Bipartisan group of lawmakers in Congress promise to certify the 2024 election. Yikes! Do not mail you ballot at the USPS. Vote on Election Day in person!

Guests Scott Miller and Goud Maragani joined me to discuss widespread abuse and corruption in the HOA Management industry. Over half a million residents are in HOAs, and 80% of new housing is in HOAs. There is no regulation of HOA, but a bill providing for an ombudsman would help. In the near term however, residents should attend HOA meetings, voice their concerns, lobby fellow residents, and get elected to the HOA Board where they can directly influence HOA policy in their communities.

  • The Path to State and Local Sovereignty Episode 11: Cayenne Pepper, SecureVote.News, Mary Burkett Goulding Helping Nonprofits

Ranch life vignette: Cayenne pepper helps the body to stop bleeding. It is good for the circulatory system, for nose bleeds (drink a pinch mixed in a glass of water), and for ulcers. Enjoy a few sprinkles every day--on soups, salads, etc.

SecureVote.News: Voter ID initiative will be on November ballot in Nevada. Fulton County, Georgia, is going rogue with unapproved "monitors" to ensure the election is "accurate." True the Vote continues its efforts to clean voter rolls and ensure that voters are registered.

Guest: Mary Burkett Goulding of Nonprofit Law and Leadership and her husband, Mike, help nonprofit organizations avoid the three biggest causes of early failure: lack of sufficient funding, inexperienced leadership, and legal mistakes.

  • The Path to State and Local Sovereignty Episode 10: Wisdom from a Civil War manual, soaking raw almonds, the latest from SecureVote.News, primary election report from Utah County Clerk Aaron Davidson

Ranch life vignette: Soak raw almonds overnight, drop them into boiling water for 20 seconds, and then into cold water. This blanches them. Now when you squeeze an almond between your fingers, it will pop out of its skin.

From the Civil War Manual, Article 113: "A strong will and the sense of duty often lead to greater results than enthusiasm. Persevering toil, practice and reflection can, in time, make a good general out of an indifferent officer."

SecureVote.News: California sends ballots to illegal aliens. Biden's cognitive decline no longer hidden from public view. Musk warns against mail-in ballots and voting machines, and pledges millions each month to Trump. Utah State Records Committee Hearing in Taylorsville this Thursday at 9.

Guest: Aaron Davidson, Utah County Clerk, said the Primary Election went pretty well. About 3.5% of ballots were cast in person, up from 0.7%. USPS processes mail-in ballots more casually than expected. "Fast Cast" ballots preclude the need for signature verification (saves time and money).

  • The Path to State and Local Sovereignty Episode 9: Flaxseed Cleans Eyes, SecureVote.News, Dan Cummins on War Powers

Ranch life vignette: Put a flaxseed in your eye to cleanse it of dust. It is mucilaginous and will "mop up" the dust. A few minutes later, the flaxseed will be in the inner corner of your eye, and you can flick it out, leaving your eye free of dust.

SecureVote.News: Leah Anderson audited the 2020 election in the largest county in South Dakota, found numerous problems, exposed them, and is taking a lot of flak for her integrity. The Jenkins-Maloy (CD 2) race is very close, but the clerk in Washington County refuses to disclose to the Jenkins campaign the names of the 500+ uncured ballots. Some mail-in ballots went to Las Vegas which sat on them, and then postmarked them (late) to St. George (so they could not be counted). Cox supposedly gathered 28,006 signatures to get a spot on the Primary Election ballot (just 6 more than the required number). But the public is not allowed to verify the signatures. So Phil Lyman and other candidates filed a lawsuit for the right to view unredacted copies of the signatures gathered by the signature-gathering campaigns. And over a third of the names on Utah's voter rolls are not public!

Dan Cummings (constitutional scholar) joined us to discuss the war powers of Congress. He explained the Framers' feelings that the president NOT have authority to go to war, but that power resides with Congress. Also, Congress may NOT delegate their war-making authority to the president (as is done by the AUMFs). Congress is the branch of government that is closest to the people. The Defend the Guard Act would prohibit the deployment of the states' National Guard troops to active combat without a formal declaration of war by Congress.

  • The Path to State and Local Sovereignty Episode 7: Churning Butter, Rights From God, SecureVote.News, Dan Cummings Prison Welfare

Ranch life vignette: Churning cream into butter by hand takes time and arm strength, but results in delightfully tasty, creamy-white butter that you can use right away, or freeze for later use.

Constitutional Concept: Our rights come from God--not from government.

SecureVote.News: Flashback "Toward Disaster; Utah's Election Trajectory," evidence that the political class wants to move us away from in-person precinct voting, and embrace mail-in voting en route to Internet voting. The J6 Committee withheld testimony that Trump authorized 10,000 troops for Capitol Security, but Pelosi refused the help.

Constitutional scholar Dan Cummings and I discussed prison welfare, and the concept of paying one's debt to society. Some of our prisons are so comfortable that inmates will commit a crime just to get back into jail where they are assured of food, clothing, housing, and even recreation. The cost to the taxpayers (as of several years ago) is $70,000 annually. Inmates rarely pay back this debt, so really never pay their debt to society. Dan is okay with an inmate regaining his right to vote IF (and AFTER) he truly repays his debt to society.

  • The Path to State and Local Sovereignty Episode 6: Milk Cows, GOP Nominees, Title IX Reg, Phil Lyman For Governor

Ranch life vignette: We had two milk cows, Gloria (a Guernsey) and Hornet (a Jersey), which we milked morning and night, day after day, year after year. They gave us sweet, rich milk, part of which we churned into butter nearly every day.

Constitution Corner: The new Title IX regulation promulgated by the Biden administration--which says any educational institution that accepts federal money must not discriminate based on sex, gender, or gender identity--is federal overreach. It would violate the rights and privacy of females with the introduction of males who "identify as" (pretend) to be females. But the states--which formed the general government--did not grant authority for education. This federal overreach should be ignored (thwarted) by the states.

Phil Lyman, the Republican Party's nominee for governor, was our guest for the latter half of the show. He got involved civically after reading a book entitled "Statehood" (explaining state sovereignty) and because 300 feds raided the homes of 26 of his fellow citizens in San Juan County. As a commissioner of the county, he led a peaceful protest against the federal takeover of land. He served in the state house, where he fought federal overreach and defended individual liberty. He explained his common-sense solutions to the problems of immigration, elections, and so forth. Please vote Phil Lyman for governor!

  • The Path to State and Local Sovereignty Episode 5: Stinging Nettle remedy; SecureVote.News, aliens voting; DOJ prosecution of pro-life protesters under the FACE Act is unconstitutional

Ranch life vignette: We gathered Stinging Nettle with rubber gloves, then steamed and ate it (good blood cleanser). A nearby herb, Yellow Dock, helps to relieve the severe itching caused by Stinging Nettle. Pigweed (also called Lamb's Quarter) grows plentifully. All three of these herbs are good to eat, and helpful to the body.

SecureVote.News: Illegal aliens are being allowed to vote in many places. Most of them vote "Left." True the Vote is doing some good work in correcting weaknesses and problems in our electoral systems. This broadcast, along with Lew Moore's Hour of Decision  shows, can be found at NewsForAmerica.org.

Constitution Corner: The DOJ is prosecuting several citizens for protesting outside of a Planned Parenthood facility. But the states did not vest such "police power" in the general government. The FACE Act is unconstitutional, yet these citizens are facing severe punishment.

  • The Path to State and Local Sovereignty Episode 4: Flanking calves, RemoveCox.com, SecureVote.News, and Otto Krauss discusses his deep dive into ERIC

Ranch life vignette: Flanking a calf. Every spring, we rounded up our cows and newborn calves to process the calves. You grab a calf by its flank and neck, lift and rotate him a quarter of a turn, drop him on the ground, and put your shin over his neck to hold him down while someone else grabs his hind legs to keep a third person from getting kicked when he bands the male calf and puts a tag in his ear.

Constitution Corner: There is an informative website, removecox.com, that gives ten reasons Utah should not re-elect Spencer Cox as our governor. It features a 12-minute Tucker Carlson Show on Fox News about Utah, Cox, and Romney. Excellent material. Share with your neighbors!

SecureVote.News: Arkansas bans electronic signatures on voter registration forms. Texas judge orders new election because of too many illegal votes. Utah voters are losing trust in its elections. Biggest (lack of) integrity issues revolve around voter lists.

Otto Krauss (our guest today) dove deeper into ERIC (Electronic Registration Information Center), a private group to whom Utah and two dozen other states entrust voter data. They use it in registration drives to inflate voter rolls (with people they know do not care to vote most of the time, so a vote can be cast FOR THEM if necessary). Utah Lt. Governor is breaking federal law by giving voter data to ERIC. Lawsuits that persuade states to exit ERIC exist in four states (so far).

  • The Path to State and Local Sovereignty Episode 3: Spruities, Biden Coercion Of Big Tech, SecureVote.News, Dan Cummings Sigs

Ranch life vignette: Mom and I sprouted wheat, ground it into a mash, spread it onto a cookie sheet, sprinkled salt on it, dried it in the sun, and called it "Spreaties." When we added fruit to the mash, we called them "Spruities."

Constitution Corner: On May 2, the US House approved the "Antisemitism Awareness Act" which criminalizes criticism of anything Israel does, essentially. This bill (HR 6090) is not constitutional because the definition of antisemitism is made by a private (Jewish) organization, not by Congress; and because it violates your right of free expression.

SecureVote.News: Georgia's Election Board confirmed that 2020 Georgia election results should NOT have been certified. Intelligence agencies have resumed talks with Big Tech to moderate content that does not comport with the official (government) narrative. US Senator Mike Lee sponsors the SAVE Act to prevent illegal aliens from voting.

Dan Cummings discussed the signature-gathering process in Utah and in Wyoming, saying that it is detrimental to a political party's right to select its own nominees, but helpful to a group wishing to establish a new political party. Paying people to gather signatures corrupts the process.
