The Patron Saints of Sick Sons of Bitches

This week, Orchid and Colette pledge allegiance to the Atrocious Alliance when they take on AJW legend Dump Matsumoto! What does Chigusa Nagayo's arch-enemy have to do with Dadaism? How far ahead of the curve was Dump's gutter punk aesthetic? Do a wrestler need a gigantic moveset when they're armed to the teeth with forks, scissors, kendo sticks, and weird little garbage cans? The answers to these questions and more, PLUS Colette's assessment of the 2026 Street Fighter movie. Want us to cover your favorite wrestler? This week, Orchid and Colette finally answer the question they did a whole-ass episode about Tommy Dreamer to avoid: Is Kenny Omega the greatest wrestler of all time? Part three of our deep dive into Kenny Omega's career doubles as our first foray into All Elite Wrestling. Like, all of it. From Pac and Mox and Hangman to Danielson and Vikingo and Ospreay. With Kenny's case made, we're spinning THE WHEEL and making the deal! Want us to cover your favorite wrestler? Give us a 5* review on your podcatcher of choice, or by supporting Patron Saints on Ko-Fi: https://ko-fi.com/patronsaints

This week on The Patron Saints of Sick Sons of Bitches, Orchid and Colette decided to take a break from Kenny Omega, spinning the wheel and making the deal and pushing the premise of the show further than it's ever gone before in examining the career of one Tommy Dreamer. Lots of ECW talk, including his feuds against Sandman, Raven, and New Jack. Lots of talk about his relationship to ECW and other companies whose t-shirts he wore. Lots of talk about the kinds of things Tommy Dreamer would eat, including a story the late Sabu shared on Twitch at Orchid's behest. It's a real dark night of the soul, and then Orchid and Colette ask the tough question: Is Tommy Dreamer the greatest wrestler of all time? Find out!

Next week we're wrapping our three-parter on Kenny Omega before going back to the Wheel. Want to put a name on it? Leave us a 5* review on your podcatcher of choice, or support the making of this podcast on ko-fi, and we'll do so: https://ko-fi.com/patronsaints

Items Discussed:

• The demographics of ECW's Audience
• Tommy Dreamer vs. The Sandman (ECW 8/30/94)
• Tommy Dreamer vs. Raven (ECW 9/15/95)
• The Tommy Dreamer/Raven Feud
• The strange things Tommy Dreamer occasionally consumes.
• Other matches, in brief, including bouts against Akira Taue, Jerry Lawler, Rob Van Dam, Stevie Richards, AJ Styles, and a litany of multi-man tags, some terrible, some incredible, most of them watchable.

This week on The Patron Saints of Sick Sons of Bitches, Orchid and Colette go deep into three years of Kenny Omega’s career, his 2016-2019 run as a heavyweight in New Japan Pro Wrestling! Orchid joked that Omega would be a three-parter, and boy was she right! Beginning with the night he took control of the Bullet Club, we explore his reputation as a tournament wrestler, the beauty of his famous four match series against Kazuchika Okada, and the many ways in which the “Bullet Club is fine” angle was not, in fact, fine.

In addition to all of the hot Elite action you could possibly want, Orchid and Colette discuss a major update to the Wheel. Going forward, you can add your favorite wrestler to the wheel via a 5* review on your podcatcher of choice, or by supporting Patron Saints on ko-fi: https://ko-fi.com/patronsaints

The once-and-forever Queen of Wrestling changed the landscape for women’s professional wrestling in the United States through her work in SHIMMER, CHIKARA, Ring of Honor, and other independent wrestling promotions before signing to WWE as a trainer in 2012, a position she holds to this day. While her career as an active wrestler was brief, it was magnificent: a 10 year stretch of classics rivaling the very best of her generation, regardless of their gender. But is she the Greatest Wrestler of All Time? Find out!

Matches Discussed:

• vs. Super Dragon (APW 9/13/02)
