The Paul McLoone Show

The Paul McLoone Show has a treasure trove of sessions recorded over the 10 years on air, this particular session will be one that is added to the treasure. Pure gold from The Waterboys. We moved our gear out of Marconi House for a sunny day in May and recorded the band in their gorgeous rehearsal space in Dublin.

The Waterboys have a brand new album out called 'Where The Action Is', they are on tour and will be playing The Late Late Show this coming Friday.

The Specials Ehh.. Special On The Paul McLoone Show aired on Thursday night, ahead of their appearance on The Graham Norton Show!

Paul McLoone went backstage in Dublins Olympia Theatre earlier this month to have a chat with Horace and Lynval of The Specials.

They talk about creating the new album 'Encore' and how they combined the two distinct sounds of The Specials. How blessed they are to have Terry Hall back writing and touring with them. Covering topics from Me Too, feminism and Black Lives Matter, this chat is an extensive insight into the World of The Specials.

Old Hannah have recorded a very special album 'Borealis' and we were delighted they came in to record for The McLoone Sessions.

Last week they had a launch party in Sligo and this Friday they celebrate the album with a launch gig in The Grand Social Dublin. Have a listen to this session and get yourselves down to see them on Friday if you are in Dublin.

Fontaines DC are the band of the moment. This isn't hype, we have been there since day one and watched their hard work turn heads everywhere. The electric connection between Grian, Carlos, Curley, Deego and Tom, is a current we can all see and one that has the band poised for greatness.

It's one week until Debut album 'Dogrel' is released on Partisan records. The momentum leading up to the release on April 12th has seen the band play multiple venues across Europe, venture across the Atlantic to New York and make nine appearances in six days in Austin at SXSW.

"Fontaines DC were the most talked about band" at the SXSW industry showcase writes Alex Thomson in Gigwise,  "They make 2019 punk for a politically-motivated, geared up generation. Their songs do have a direct line to small town ears though, with lyrics that convey an aspiration to fight for better things. Their live performance is a magnetic riot at every turn. It’s hard to ignore."

The McLoone Sessions happen every Wednesday and are full of live music goodness. These boys came over from the West to record this session and it is one of our favourites of 2019.

We had an Irish radio exclusive last night on The Paul McLoone Show, one of our best musical exports from Arklow, Roisin Murphy, took over the show and brought us on a musical mystery tour of sounds and artists that inspire her. 

With tales if Arklow in the seventies, her amazing back story, moving to Northern England and jumping into a rave culture scene, joining Moloko, to having a family. Roisin's musical DNA is very clear to see with her song choices.
