After my interview with Miles last week, I got thinking about how to improve my home office set up. In the interview, we briefly discussed Mileses recording set up and after recording, I went about improving my own home office.
One of the things Mile’s said that really struck a chord with me was this idea of “reducing friction”. I love this idea and thinking about how you can minimise obstacles that stand between you and your work. I’ve been subconsciously doing this for a while, but since the interview, I’ve made an extra effort to optimise my workspace.

In this episode, I interview an internet marketing guru, Miles Beckler. I met Miles and his wife Melanie in Bali last year when we were both speaking at the DMSS conference.
Miles spends half his time doing this internet marketing for his wife's online business Ask-Angels. Through that experience Miles has learned a TONNE about internet marketing. He now shares everything he learns on his blog and YouTube channel, giving away all the secrets that other internet marketers charge for.
Today, I’m not so much interested in tapping into Mile’s knowledge of internet marketing (you can check out his channel and blog for that). Instead, I focus on how to start or grow a successful online business, productivity routines and best practices.

For my final podcast of 2018, I’d like to end the year with a review. I’m going to discuss my achievements, what went well, what didn’t get well and what I’d like to focus on for next year.

The headline of this post is meant to be ironic because here’s the secret - there is no secret. There’s no silver bullet that’s going to solve all your problems. There is no #1 tip I can give you. Sorry to burst your bubble.
Next year, if you want to be more productive, more organised, to start or grow a business, all you need to do is to sit down and do the work. Stop looking for secrets and 'hacks'. Instead, focus on shopping up each and every day to put in the work!

One of the ways you can massively increase your productivity and be more organised is to follow a simple rule - do your future self a favour.
The key principle here is to think about what you can do now to save yourself time later.

A few weeks ago I caught up a friend and previous customer of mine, Gareth Pronovost. Gareth purchased my How to become a "virtual consultant" program after being laid off and is now an Airtable Consultant. What's amazing is Gareth made over $10,000 in his first month of consulting. It's been great following Gareth's progress to see what's possible in the world of "virtual consulting".
Enjoy this interview with Gareth. He has some great advice around trying different things and the importance of focusing on a niche specialty.

In this podcast episode, I'm very excited to be interviewing one of my favourite online people - Paul Jarvis.
As well as having a super cool first name (yep, I went there), Paul is someone I've looked up to for the last few years. Paul has been operating a company of one for over 20 years. He comes from a web design and development background and now spends his time helping people to grow better (not bigger) businesses. Paul is an online course creator. In fact, I purchased his awesome course, Grow Your Audience, earlier this year and LOVED it! And Paul is now working on his first book, Company of One.
For years, Paul has been challenging popular ideas surrounding growth. His article, Happiness and gravy, had a big impact on me and I can safely say that Paul has helped shape the direction of my business.
As you might have noticed, I don't do a lot of interviews but I was super excited to meet and chat with Paul. Enjoy our conversation.

Having worked with hundreds of clients to help optimise their productivity tools, I keep coming across some common mistakes that people tend to make with notes.
The issue I see is that people tend to overuse notes. That’s right. I think people consider notes to be “everything apps” that can handle everything to do with their productivity (read more about why you shouldn’t overlap your productivity tools). However, I find this means you end up using notes more than you should either because you're storing the wrong type of information in notes, or using notes when other types of apps may be better suited for the job. This results in a productivity system that’s less organised or efficient as it could be.
So, here I am to clear things up and explain how, when and why to use note apps.

If you've followed me for a while you'll know I'm all about living a happier, healthy lifestyle where I can live on my terms. And part of living on your terms involves getting control of your personal finances. Money is one of the biggest things we worry about. But remember, it's not the money that's important, it's what the money allows us to do that really matters.
To take control of your personal finances and live on your terms, I'd like to share some tips I've used to reduce spending, earn more and live a "rich" life.
Before we begin, here's my big disclaimer:
I am NOT a financial adviser. Everyone's situation is different. If you don't agree with my ideas, that's fine. I'm sharing advice that has worked for me based on my situation and I don't expect this to work for everyone. All good? Great!

Our little boy Jay is now just over 4 weeks old. I can safely say that the last month has been a rollercoaster of emotion and there really is nothing that can prepare you for becoming a parent.
In this episode, I'd like to share my experience of what the last 4 weeks have been like and how I'm adjusting to my new role as a Dad (seeing that word, "dad" on the screen and associating that label with my identify still feels weird).
