When I first started, I thought making candles would be as simple as melting wax and pouring it into a jar. I quickly discovered that creating a high-quality candle is both an art and a science. Months of testing taught me how important burn performance, fragrance throw, consistency, and safety are before ever putting my name on a product.

Sometimes the most meaningful conversations don't happen in a studio—they happen around a dinner table.

I'm honored to share this special feature from an unforgettable evening at 15th Street Farm in St. Petersburg, Florida, where I was invited by Alexis Baum, host of AB Sees You, to participate in an Ikigai Dinner celebrating purpose, connection, and community. With Alexis's gracious permission, I'm excited to bring this special spinoff episode to The Pauline Chilton Show.

The evening gathered an incredible group of people who care deeply about their local community. Over a meal prepared with fresh ingredients grown right at the farm, strangers became friends, stories were shared, and conversations centered around a simple but powerful question: What is your ikigai?—your reason for being.

During the evening, I had the privilege of recording my own spontaneous interview with Randee Baum, where we talked about embracing spontaneity, finding joy in life's unexpected moments, and the beauty of bringing people together around good food and meaningful conversation. It was a reminder that purpose isn't always found in grand accomplishments. Sometimes it's found in showing up, listening, and sharing a table with people who genuinely care about making the world around them a little better.

What made this evening especially meaningful to me wasn't just participating in the recording—it was experiencing a community built on kindness, curiosity, generosity, and connection. In a world that often feels rushed and disconnected, this dinner reminded me that healing begins with relationships, that every person has a story worth hearing, and that communities become stronger when we intentionally create spaces where people feel seen and valued.

Thank you to Alexis Baum for the invitation, for creating AB Sees You, and for allowing me to share this beautiful experience with The Pauline Chilton Show audience. I hope this episode inspires you to seek out your own community, support local organizations doing meaningful work, and perhaps even gather around a table with people who leave you feeling a little more hopeful than when you arrived.

Part 2 of my Lone Star Candle Supply fragrance review is here! In this episode, I'm sharing my honest impressions of several fragrance oils, including Black Chamomile, Sunlit Citrus Blossom, French Market, Fruit Slices, Jasmine, Lavender, Cowboy, Inner Peace, and Eucalyptus Tea.

As a candle maker, I don't just judge a fragrance by how it smells in the bottle. I also test it in wax to see how it performs with both cold throw and hot throw, because that's what really matters when you're creating high-quality candles.

I'll also show you how these fragrances inspired some of my own candle creations, including Volcano Breeze, Lavender Fields, Peace & Petals, Everglades Ranger, and Eucalyptus & Chamomile, while sharing the stories behind each name and how they connect to Florida, wellness, and clean living.
