The Peccavi File
This book begins well and then, suddenly, becomes a grabber. Adkins continues to have the unique skill of being completely credible in the way he presents the dialogue between the book's characters -- both in their vocabulary and the emotions they are experiencing -- while simultaneously talking to the reader very intimately.
As the quite fascinating idea behind "Peccavi" begins to take hold, the reader is comfortably escorted through the increasing sophistication of the plot in tandem with the fun and quickly developing relationships that rapidly become complex, sensual, and
competitive. This makes the book a great page-turner.
This author causes the reader to become a learner while being entertained, through his ability to make a helix of the arcane around the mundane phenomenon of male/female and female/female relationships.
Lastly, it is evident that Adkins has done his homework both in science and forensics as well as the formal and informal structures of police work, which affords the reader believable and enjoyable insight. This book, coupled with his others, shows his laudable knowledge of an amazing cross section of subjects, and time periods, and aspects of the human condition.
