Best Ever

On the edge of your seat listening even 8 year old daughter was totally into listening to it even after reaching our destination. Very real, and realistic. Will be listening to more Andy McNab.

Fantastic, on to the next

After debating with myself on whether to read this book or not I am so glad I went with my gut, knowing how good Andy Mcnab is at the detailed stories he did not let me down on this one. I was gripped from the beginning and loved learning about Ethan, his struggles and obviously about sky diving. I REALLY WANNA SKY DIVE NOW.

Is this really written by Andy McNab?

What disappointed you about DropZone?

Totally unbelievable story line that bordered on the ridiculous. As a lifelong fan of the author it was in massive contrast to the usual brilliance.

What could Andy McNab have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

Not written or published it at all.

Who might you have cast as narrator instead of Nigel Pilkington?

I cant see Paul Thornley or any of the excellent narrators of his previous books going anywhere near it.

You didnt love this book--but did it have any redeeming qualities?

This book has no redeeming qualities at all.

Any additional comments?

Still absolutely love Andy McNab as an author, and cant wait for his next book to be released.

What an amazing Young Adult book!

This book is aimed at younger readers (High School / College etc) but as I like McNabs writing skills I thought I would give this a try.

Keeping in mind it is aimed at younger listeners, it was well written, a bit cheesy and sometimes predictable but well worth a listen.

This is NOT like Bravo Two Zero or Zero Hour but I just could not stop listening to it. As it is lighter than his other works I just found myself wanting to listen to more of it, I could remember being that age and associating with some of the things that the lead character Ethan was up against.

Remember this book is aimed at younger readers before they come into the more adult works that McNab writes!

Dissapointing to say the least

As a previous fan of McNab I have difficulty avoiding being rude about McNab's foray into what can only have been written as a children?s story ? is this the same Andy McMab that wrote Seven Troop - no can't be? I can only assume that McNab?s publisher felt that his books were becoming too samey and suggested he go in a different direction. Thus here you have the author trying to become a teenager with the most improbable script you have ever read. To achieve this miracle the word AWSOME DUDE graces just about every page along with the blushes when the girls look at you and going home to talk to Mum about how rotten everybody is being to you - I kid you not. The plot frankly beggars belief. Here?s a kid who's taking his A levels i.e.

Avenging Angel is More Like It

A bit spooky if that's your taste. A madwoman sets out to 'punish' moms she sees as child abusers. Entertaining only up to a point.

Perfect Angel not so perfect

If I could use only one word to describe this book it would be superficial.

There was no real depth to any of the characters. even at the end we know very little about any of them - other than who the Wizard is. There is an attempt at a romantic liaison, which was not successful.

I found it impossible to connect with any of the characters, and I never once got that OMG I can't bear to put this book down feeling. There is very little if any scene setting, no atmosphere.

The plot showed plenty of promise and there were a few really good moments in Perfect Angel, but they were few and far between. Overall, I was hugely disappointed in this read and would not recommend.

Thank you to NetGalley and Avon Books for the gift of a copy of Perfect Angel in exchange for an honest and unbiased review.

The Madison Seven.

I received a copy of this book from the publisher for an honest review.

The Madison 7: Gail, Richard, Julia, Paula, Martin, Marianne & Jared attended college together and had been friends since. Julia has a party and they want her to hypnotize them like she did in college so they could relive there college days. Nobody knew it would unlock a serial killer buried deep in the psych of one of the seven.

Ray is the detective assigned to the investigation.

GOOD ACTION/ADVENTURE

SERIES HERO MARK HARDIN TAKES ON THE F.A.L.N. IN NEW YORK IN THIS DECENT ENTRY IN THE PENETRATOR LINE OF BOOKS.I FIRST READ THIS WHEN IT APPEARED IN 1977,AND WHILE THE PUERTO RICAN NATIONALIST GROUP HAS SINCE DISAPPEARED INTO HISTORY, THEY WERE QUITE ACTIVE AT THE TIME IN THE N.Y. CITY AREA,MAKING THIS BOOK VERY TIMELY.SADLY,MARK HARDIN IS EQUALLY AS FORGOTTEN AS THE VILLAINS HE FIGHTS HERE,WHILE THE DESTROYER AND THE EXECUTIONER STILL APPEAR TO THIS DAY,IN SERIES FORM.HE WAS MORE ''REALITY-BASED'' THAN THE OTHER TWO ACTION STARS,WHICH MADE HIM APPEAR DULLER TO MOST READERS.STILL,I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS SERIES BECAUSE IT IS DIFFERENT FROM THE REST.

Relentless

A strangely compelling narrative. I wondered whether it was for me until I got past the first couple of chapters. Our Hero - who ever he is - is not very deeply drawn but I found myself really liking him and you have to be impressed at how lucky he is!! He is relentlessly pursued and staggers from one impossibly desperate situation to another. It's hard to imagine sometimes that he is going to make it to the end of the book. It would make a good film!

gripping narrative

I bought this on the strength of the previous reviews and I wasn't disappointed. A great story - interestingly slow start and a lot of character/scene setting, but once it gets going, it really goes! A real old-fashioned chase/roadtrip/chandleresque thriller. As someone else said, it would make a great movie or tv miniseries!

I thought this was real value for money, and it's prompted me to try GM Ford's other audio books. I'm listening to 'Last Ditch' and enjoying it a lot, too.

Enjoyable

This book held my interest, very enjoyable

Great action, great narration

I hadn't heard of this writer, but bought this audio on a friend's recommendation. Listened to it on a long car journey and the time flew by. The story moves along at a good pace and the narrator does a great job with the different characters.
