"The Perfect Day" Practice: Using Buddhist Wisdom to Cultivate Happiness

You've probably heard it before: No one else can make you happy. You have to do it yourself. While this is true, has this idea actually helped you feel more joy, peace, or happiness? If not, this episode is for you.

This week, I’m sharing one of my favorite mental and spiritual practices—one that hundreds of clients have found life-changing. Despite having more comfort and pleasure available than ever, many of us still struggle to truly enjoy our lives. That’s why I’m offering "The Perfect Day" Practice, typically the highlight of my personal development programming, because we all deserve more joy.

This practice can help you live your best life by increasing optimism and savoring the everyday moments. I’ll explain how negativity bias works and how to counteract it using three Buddhist principles that underpin this powerful practice.

I'll also share how I’ve ritualized this exercise quarterly and operationalize it daily, so I can actively author my own happiness. When we cultivate joy within ourselves, we spread that goodness to everyone around us.
