I’m wondering how many of you have heard about or tried out those instant ride services.  You know, the ones that are alternatives to taxis?  You can actually track where you ride is, when it will get to you, who the driver is, and all the other cool features.  Well, did you know there is a similar service that has to do with dog walking?  I met the folks a ZINGY at pet expo and they offer this unique dog walking service.  But rather than try to explain it all to you myself, I’ve invited Tobi Skovron, the CEO of Zingy to come by and give us all the details. Then after our halftime break, Michael Wollner, the VP and Director of Marketing for RSQUE BRAND, Inc. is going to stop by and tell us the amazing story of Gustav, the miracle Rescue Dog and how this amazing canine inspires his business.

Some years ago, when I was a Lieutenant with Orange County Animal Control, I was asked to train deputy sheriff recruits in the area of dealing with protective animals at crime scenes or other emergency locations.  This came about after a beloved family pet was shot and killed by deputies who had responded to a burglary-in-process call at a residence.  That event made it painfully clear that many law-enforcement personnel had little to no training in dealing with protective animals and resorted to immediate lethal force when confronted with a family pet.  Of course, one of the best bits of information all emergency personnel can use before they arrive to the scene of an emergency is whether or not a pet is there.  And thanks to Smart911, a new service for pet owners, this information is being made available to emergency response agencies.  Jessica Rose from RAVE mobile Safety will be by shortly to tell us about all the details. Then after our halftime break, Ashley Cunningham, the president and founder of Barks of Love Animal Rescue will be checking in to talk about all the latest news from her organization and tails with happy endings.

Did you know that hundreds of thousands of animals perish in the more than 1.2 million fires that occur every year in the United States?  It is an absolutely staggering statistic that breaks my heart.  Well there is a brand new technology that has been developed that will hopefully change these numbers for the better and I have invited Paul Graeve from Buddy Rescue to the program to explain it all in just a minute. Then after our halftime break, Maryanne Dell will chatting with me about springtime pet safety.

If you missed Pet Expo last month, then you'll want to mark your calendars for next year because it is amazing. We ’ve invited our old friend Doug Poindexter to the show to elaborate on all the great attractions that were lined up this year…and of course, Pet Expo is absolutely famous for finding homes for hundreds of homeless pets that will be showcased by their respective rescue groups and shelters.  Doug will elaborate on all of this.  And after our halftime break, Teresa Ann Miller will be stopping by to tell the tale of how she trained dozens of dogs who acted in award winning and thought provoking film that has several messages about how we treat animals, and our fellow human beings.  It’s quite something.
