This weeks topic is all about Faith. For thousands of years God’s children put their works above His grace. With the advent of the reformation in the 1500’s we found that most of the church was in error in doing so. Works are not something that the believer should be trying to produce in their own strength. Indeed the number one thing that causes us to have a lack of works is attempting to produce works!

However, with this discovery many have fallen into a trap. As we have decided that we are no longer saved by works we have tried to turn faith into a work.

In this podcast I want to talk about this topic of faith and try and clarify what faith is and what faith isn’t. How faith is the most important thing for you to possess in your life and at the same time why you are probably worrying about faith a whole lot more than you need to be.

This weeks topic is all about a question I get asked frequently.

People discovering their freedom in Christ often find themselves struggling in their local churches.

Because of this I find myself commonly being asked “Should I leave my church?”

I think this is a much more complex question than it seems on the surface. Often we fail to realise what the local church is for and the thing we prioritise the most is often the least important thing!

In this weeks episode I want to talk about what church is for, how important church is and when you can know its time to leave your church.

I’ve yet to meet someone who doesn’t enjoy the feeling of being completely at rest. I’m also yet to meet someone who is at rest 24/7… I know I’m certainly not there!! My heart this week is to share some key ways rest is often misunderstood that can hold us back from truly experiencing it as well as why it’s important to make rest a priority in your life.

Something I’m asked very often is "how do I find a mentor”, we all want to grow in who we are and one of the best ways this can happen is for us to be practically discipled by someone on a one-on-one level.

The issue we find however is that often we really struggle to find someone we deem worthy of being a mentor or when we do find such a person we have no idea how to initiate a relationship of mentor/mentee.

In this podcast I share some practical advice for how you can prepare yourself for this kind of relationship and how you can go about finding someone who fits the bill.

Spiritual Warfare is such a hot topic in the church and I often get accused of turning a blind eye to the topic.

I have to confess I don’t feel the need to focus on the devil as much as many people seem to want to. However, I don’t want it to be said that I ignore the topic.

Spiritual Warfare is a very real and important topic for us to discuss in the church and so that’s what we are going to do today.

I used to be the most negative person I've ever met. Most people who didn't know me 5 years ago laugh when I say that. They are even more surprised when I tell them I struggled with serious depression for over 10 years!

The good news is of course that this is history. One of the biggest keys to my turnaround was in the area of developing the habit of positivity. There is no such thing as "positive people" and "negative people". Trust me I've been both. There are only people who choose to be positive and people who choose to be negative.

In this podcast we'll talk about 10 simple tips you can apply in your life to develop the habit of positivity in your life.

Last Saturday evening I spent the evening with a running club who described themselves as a "drinking club with a running problem".

I have to say, I don't really drink and I'm not a great runner either! So I wasn't sure what to expect!

What I found was that my wife and I had a great time and I was reminded of some important things as well... things I want to share with you all in this week's podcast.

New Year is a great time where so many of us have a bit of time to evaluate our year and to look forward to the coming year. Most people in the midst of this time set resolutions. Things they want to do better in the coming year.

It's at this point I have to confess... I'm not big into resolutions... in fact I've historically bad at keeping them.

However I wanted to share with you a few reasons I think that is and a few steps we can take today that will specifically help us get the most out of 2014.

You will be hard pressed to find a Christian that doesn't believe that prayer is an essential part of the daily Christian life.

However what I've found is that many people have trouble figuring out what prayer should look like for the believer in light of the New Covenant.
