Reflections and connections about the thoughts rolling around in my head about life, writing, storytelling and music. Todays poem, 1603 1st Street, explores the sights, sounds, tastes, feelings and smells of Tillamook, Oregon and growing up on 1st street.

Todays Poem, I Could Be From Anywhere, is inspired by where I come from. Not only the physical places,  but also the people, sights, sounds, feelings, food, music and culture. I wrote this with my students as we learned about I Am From Poems, that focused on where they come from and how we can tell those stories in creative ways. Todays Poem, Deep Thoughts in a Shallow City, was inspired by the hard times of living through the Pandemic and delivering food for Doordash. Reflections and connections about a city, nation and world struggling to find its way and the thoughts rolling around my head about life, poetry, writing and Hip Hop.
