What if Jesus isn’t waiting for you to get your life together before He comes near? We assume He keeps His distance from people like us—but He doesn’t. He walks straight toward sinners, sits at their table, and calls them before they change. “It is finished” means your acceptance isn’t something you earn—it’s something He already secured. So stop trying to become worthy… and come sit down.

You’re not responsible for holding your faith together—God is. The pressure you feel to “stay strong” or “not forget” was never the Gospel. Jesus didn’t leave you with a task; He gave you His Spirit. And the Spirit doesn’t demand—He reminds. It is finished means your standing with God isn’t fragile, even if your memory is. So when your grip feels weak, don’t panic—rest. He’s already holding you.

You were never meant to control your life—only to trust the One who does. The more you strive to manage every outcome, the more anxious you become. Job 39 reminds us: creation is wild, untamable, and still fully governed by God. That same God has already spoken over your life in Christ: it is finished. So stop trying to hold what He already holds. Rest is not found in control—it’s found in surrender to a finished work.
