It’s All-Star Weekend! But, more importantly, Paul Reed just had Jakob Poeltl in a blender. Wes and Blake jump in to break down everything we’ve seen in Piston-land as we head into the All-Star break. How will the fallout from the Hornets brawl impact Isaiah Stewart’s award eligibility? What was up with Jalen Duren apparently backing out of the Dunk contest? And why is Paul Reed not an All-Star starter? Ok, maybe not that last one. But they do spend some time breaking down that amazing performance in Toronto and why Reed still will be the best third-string center in the NBA the rest of the way. They discuss the All-Star game format and what the NBA can or can’t do to fix it, why 60 wins isn’t that far off for this team and if anything is still possible with Malik Beasley.

What a week.
The Pistons traded Jaden Ivey to the Chicago Bulls in exchange for Kevin Huerter, Dario Saric, and a 2026 first round pick swap. They were blown out in embarrassing fashion by the short-handed Wizards. Then they turned around and took the Knicks behind the woodshed on the second night of a back-to-back! Wes and Blake break it all down, diving into the main takeaways from that trade deadline and the game against New York. They discuss if we are all looking at the deadline backwards, every other Eastern Conference team needs to catch Detroit, not the other way around, after all. They react to Kevin Huerter’s addition and early performances, and they take a look at Ausar Thompson’s Defensive Player of the Years odds as well.

As the Pistons hit the West Coast ahead of the trade deadline while sitting atop the Eastern Conference, The Pindown brings Detroit Bad Boys' own Kyle Metz on the show to preview the Feb. 5 trade deadline. What do we think the Pistons will do? And, more importantly, what can they do? Metz breaks down the trade avenues the Pistons can take with their available contracts and traded player exceptions. Plus, we explore whether players like Jaden Ivey and Caris LeVert will get moved and how the trade deadline addresses Daniss Jenkins's future with the team.

The Pistons may have dropped a tight contest against a strong Houston Rockets team, but they are still sitting alone at the top of the Eastern Conference. With the trade deadline right around the corner, Wes and Blake break down that loss to the Rockets and what it might mean for the playoffs to come. How should the team counter the Rockets’ defensive strategy? How often will Cade see that defense? They also dive into a mock trade deadline that Wes was fortunate enough to participate in, hosted by the Bird Rights Podcast. What trades were these fake Pistons able to make? What do we think about the value of those deals and how the roster fits together in that scenario? Finally, the guys answer the big question… would this team be better with Malik Beasley than they are with Duncan Robinson?

As the title says, good teams win ugly. And the Pistons are a good team, folks! Wes and Blake hop on to break down the good, the bad, and the ugly from that narrow win against a better-than-expected Suns team. They break down why Jaden Ivey likely didn’t earn more minutes than he got against the Suns, and what he needs to do to stake his claim as the season moves on. The guys discuss a few trade deadline rumors, like Jaren Jackson Jr., and Wes explains exactly why he thinks the Pistons should steer clear. Finally, they dive into Ausar Thompson’s play this season: has he plateaued? What might it mean for his future in Detroit?

Wes and Blake hop in to record right before the Pistons rematch against the Los Angeles Clippers to continue their New Year’s Resolutions for the roster. What should Cade aim to improve? How far will this group go in the playoffs? And how should Langdon seek to continue to position this roster for success? They dive into the big question from fans — do the Pistons even need to make a big trade? And, finally, the guys discuss why a potential Jalen Duren extension will not be as back-breaking as those post-rookie maximum contracts Andre Drummond and Deandre Ayton were.

Happy New Year!
It’s 2026 and the Pistons still sit atop the Eastern Conference after a bit of a slip-up to end 2025, losing 3 of their last 4. Wes and Blake jump on before the Pistons play the Cavaliers to discuss the unfortunate injuries to Tobias Harris and Jalen Duren, and how the team might fill those roles during their absences. They also break down their New Year’s Resolutions for the players on the roster. What should Jaden Ivey focus on in 2026? Should Isaiah Stewart expand into the starting Power Forward spot? How can Jalen Duren establish himself as the true second star on this team?

The Pistons are off to a strong start on their West Coast road trip this holiday season. Though they are 2-1 so far, there have been a couple of items that could have put the team on Santa’s naughty list. Wes and Blake come to you all after the close loss to the Utah Jazz to discuss what went wrong and what went right in that game. They give Cade Cunningham his flowers for an incredible night and break down the impact a poor night from Detroit’s center position has. The guys also discuss the defense on Utah’s game-winning shot, and they dive into a big question — is Detroit getting a bad whistle? Finally, the guys speculate about Jaden Ivey’s minutes restriction and answer a voicemail about Cade Cunningham and Luka Doncic.

The Pistons are back! And they delivered an absolutely dominant win against a strong Atlanta Hawks team on Friday night. Blake and Wes use that win to discuss the bigger picture — are the Pistons really this good? Sitting at 20-5, this team is legit, and the guys break down why. They discuss the team’s great depth, why it’s a good thing that good players won’t likely find many minutes. They also break down what we’ve seen out of the first 10 games of Jaden Ivey, injuries and the NBA Cup schedule implications, and they name a skill from a former Piston that each would like to see imparted on Duren’s game.
