  • 623: Pipe Maker Chris Herriot. Brian's Ernie Markle Pipes.
Our featured interview tonight is with pipe maker Chris Herriot. Chris lives in France, and grew up in the U.K. He started making pipes during the pandemic and posting about his progress. Chris Kelly of Eldritch Pipes noticed and offered to teach him. Later, Chris traveled to St. Claude, France where pipe maker Bruno Nuttens offered him additional training. At the top of the show we will continue with our ongoing tour of Brian’s pipe collection with four pipes from Ernie Markle.

  • 622: Under 30 Pipe Smoker Noah Slasinski. Columbus Pipe Show Report.
Our featured interview tonight is with Noah Slasinski. Noah is a 28-year old pipe smoker from Michigan. His interview is part of our ongoing series of pipe smokers that are under the age of 30. He started with a Missouri Meerschaum hard wood pipe in his late teens and then tried just about every type of tobacco smoking and vaping, but eventually came back exclusively to pipe smoking about a year and a half ago. YouTube videos and Paul's Pipe Shop in Flint MI helped him along the way. Similar to some of our other younger pipe enthusiasts, Noah was influenced by writers and intellectuals that he appreciates, such as Carl Jung, C.S. Lewis, Tolkien, Mark Twain and more, as they were all pipe smokers. At the top of the show we will have a trip report on the NASPC show from this past weekend in Colombus from Dave Peterson.

  • 621: Under 30 Pipe Smoker Ben Straughan. Ask the Blender with Jeremy Reeves.
Our featured interview tonight is with Ben Straughan. Ben is a 25-year old pipe smoker that is part of our ongoing series of pipe smokers that are under the age of 30. He is from Ontario, Canada and works in radio broadcasting, but is transitioning to be a mobile crane operator. Ben has been smoking a pipe for two years. He was drawn to it because the stereotypical image of the calm, contemplative, gentleman pipe smoker has great appeal to him, and it is what he aspires to be like. At the top of the show we will have an Ask the Tobacco Blender segment with Jeremy Reeves. Jeremy is the Head Blender at Cornell & Diehl, which is one of the most popular boutique pipe tobacco companies in the USA.

  • 620: Scottish Pipe Maker Jack Ryan. The Tobacco That Went Wrong.
Our featured interview tonight is with Scottish artisan pipe maker Jack Ryan. Jack had been enjoying smoking pipes for a few years, and being a wood worker, he naturally became interested in making pipes. He has been crafting unique, one-of-a-kind pipes since 2021. At the top of the show, Brain will tell a tale of his friend's newly opened tobacco tin that looked really wrong. No names will be named, but his experience working for a pipe tobacco manufacturer leads to several clues as to what happened here.

  • 619: Under 30 Pipe Smoker Corey Hayes. Limited Edition Pipe Tobacco Review.
Our featured interview tonight is with Corey Hays. Corey is a 26-year old pipe smoker that is part of our ongoing series of pipe smokers that are under the age of 30. Lewis, and 20th Century American History. He has been smoking pipes for three years. At the top of the show, Brian will have a tobacco review of a special tobacco that you could only get a pipe show.
    1 hr 10 min
  • 618: Under 30 Pipe Smoker AJ Khaled. Ask the Pipemaker with Jeff Gracik.
Our featured interview tonight is with AJ Khaled. AJ is a 22-year old pipe smoker that is part of our ongoing series of pipe smokers that are under the age of 30. Interestingly, he wasn't initially inspired to take up the pipe by The Lord of the Rings, but more so by the author Tolkien himself while he was reading some of his other works. AJ has some really unique custom made pipes where he gave design specifics to and had them made by pipe makers Chris Askwith and Arcangelo Ambrosi. At the top of the show, we’ll have an “Ask the Pipemaker” segment with pipe artisan Jeff Gracik.
    1 hr 15 min
  • 617: Jon David Cole from Country Squire. Pipe Shows.
Our featured guest tonight is Jon David Cole. JD is the Owner/Tobacconist at The Country Squire in Jackson, MS, and the accompanying online store. We’ll have JD and Brian talking about what's new at the store and in the business in general, including Scandinavian Tobacco Group's acquisition of Mac Baren.
