About The Pit Dweller: Crime, Comedy & Sammiches [Audiobook]
From the publisher's feed
Multi-tasker Bobbie Haywood juggles lots of balls—a promotion at work, a needy girlfriend, a passionate hobby, an involuntary F.B.I. case or two, discombobulated relationships and a series of…
paintings gazing down a hallway toward a restroom. To make it through, Bobbie and a host of peripheral others deal with the day’s ebb and flow, tugging and twisting the tangly cords of life in their own unique voices.
Fear not, Prospective Reader/Listener, this ain’t no book ’bout some dude livin’ in a hole.
It's about a guy… No. No-no, it’s more than that.
The Pit Dweller forges a deeply personal relationship between you, [insert your name here], and its many characters—all shapes, sizes, varieties and backgrounds—as they inspect the hole within themselves and strive to fill the void with whatever fits, matching all those sharp-edged nooks and odd-shaped crannies. Ah, [your name goes here], life ain’t so easy, though. Is it? It tends to throw unexpected, dark shadows across the worn path, some shaped like a comical bear and some just downright grizzly.
Written (and narrated) by David Charles Matthews, The Pit Dweller wrestled its dreamy way into existence after rousing its author from a deep sleep, induced by the previous evening’s devouring of two huge helpings of shrimp stew and—admittedly—way too much garlic bread.
“HIS BEST EVER. Matthews went the distance on this one. The Pit Dweller not only takes THE TIPPY-TOP SPOT in the character-driven, dad-brained crime-com’-rom’-dram’ genre, it takes the cake, adds some sprinkles and serves it up on a paper plate—the high-quality kind, not that cheap stuff—with a tiny cup of Blue Bell Dutch-chocolate ice cream and a small tongue-depressor-of-a-spoon. Grab a slice, take a cup and savor the jocular journey. AN INSTANT NON-DAIRY, GLUTEN-FREE, NON-OCCULT CLASSIC.” - The author, me
