UNM escapes NMSU with a 73-72 win in Las Cruces on Dec. 15. The Lobos are 10-1 on the season and the guys of The Pit Press Podcast give their thoughts on the renewed rivalry.
Donovan Dent took a rebound coast-to-coast and with a reverse layup gave UNM the victory with 20.9 seconds left.
JT Toppin led the Lobos with 18 points and 11 rebounds. Dent had 14 points,  six assists and four steals. Jaelen House also scored 14 points. Nelly Junior Joseph scored 10 points and matched a career-high with five steals.

The Lobos move to 4-0 in Henderson, Nev. with a 93-76 win over Santa Clara at The Dollar Loan Center. Donovan Dent had 22 points and four assists. Isaac Mushila came off the bench and scored 11 points and had seven rebounds. UNM heads south to Las Cruces, N.M. to take on New Mexico State on Friday night at the Pan American Center.

The Gauchos are a 2022-23 NCAA Tournament team and were winners of the Big West Tournament. Reigning Big West Player of the Year, Ajay Mitchell, will pose a tough matchup for the guard-heavy Lobo lineup. UNM is now 7-1 on the season and continues its non-conference schedule.
