Dr Rachel Brown, sociologist of religion, explains the paradox of the law in St Paul - how can we no longer be 'under' the law and yet at the same time have 'fulfilled' the law in Christ? Hint: you'll need to keep in mind a clear distinction between Jewish and non-Jewish converts as well as the fact that Paul retained his Jewish roots and theology even in Christ.

Paul's teaching on the infinite grace of God leaves us with two rhetorical questions - should we keep sinning to cast God's grace in even greater relief, or again, may we not keep sinning since we are no longer considered 'under' the Law? Such questions reveal a deeper depravity within us - the deception of our rebellious and sinful natures.

We've looked as many aspects of what we mean by 'faith' and by 'doubt.' For Palm Sunday we consider faith as 'loyalty' and doubt as 'betrayal.' Don't just think of Judas.

We listen to voices from across the Christian traditions - Protestant, Catholic, Orthodox, and including Jewish teaching - to ask about the extent of God's saving grace. It is for a favoured group or is it offered to all? And do we even mean by the world 'salvation?'

In the last analysis, we must be people who pray for God to give us the courage and integrity to overcome fear and temptation, staying loyal to Christ even if it cost us everything.

Doubt is a God-given gift that protects us from gullibility and credulity. We can't survive in life if we believe and trust everyone and everything. What are the good kinds of doubt and what are the bad ones? How can we know God's intentions and trust them? What can a faithful life of doubt look like?
