Inaugural Episode
This is a podcast is directed to all plasma donors, plasma collection staff, and the dedicated professionals supporting this incredible industry. It is meant to be both educational and entertaining. We will have guests from all walks of life to talk about all things plasma.
Despite the growing demand for plasma, shortages often threaten patient care in every community. As research advances, scientists are continually discovering new indications for plasma-derived therapies that can improve both the quality of life and survival rates for those who need treatment. Unfortunately, demand often exceeds supply because only a small portion of eligible people donate plasma. In addition, there is typically no viable substitute for the therapeutic proteins that come from plasma.
As a plasma donor, your contribution to the health and well-being of patients who rely on plasma-derived therapies is invaluable. Plasma saves and improves the lives of people with cancer and those with chronic diseases such as primary immune deficiency, hemophilia, and COVID-19—related conditions. In addition to treating these conditions, plasma is used in emergencies to treat people with burns and other trauma-related injuries. When you donate plasma, you give the gift of life.
