93.7 The Fan Sports Director Jeff Hathhorn joined the show. Has Roman Wilson played his final game with the Steelers this season? Maybe. Has Wilson played his final game with the Steelers ever? Jeff isn’t ready to go that far yet. Jeff hopes it’s a bit of a wakeup call for Wilson and other young receivers. Jeff can’t quite figure out why Wilson is so far in the doghouse. Jeff does not believe the starting QB in Week 1 next season is on the roster right now. Jeff is disappointed by how little the TEs get used outside of Darnell Washington. Even though the first two RBs have been good players, why haven’t we gotten anything out of Kaleb Johnson? Jeff does not believe the team will make a massive move in the draft and trade up for a QB. Jeff thinks Will Howard still has plenty to prove to be the team’s future starting QB.

Will we see Aaron Rodgers next season? We also got notable NFL Draft news that the 1st round clock will drop from 10 minutes to 8 minutes per pick. That could be the night the Steelers draft their next QB. We know the Steelers won’t show their hand early, but is Rodgers in their plans for next season? Will the Steelers still do everything they can to move up and take one of this year’s QBs? Chris suggested allowing the fans to have their dream Mason Rudolph bridge season. There are not many (or any) attractive free agent QBs.

ALL ACCESS w/ Aditi – Christmas music began the conversation with Aditi before it jumped to the future for old QBs like Aaron Rodgers and Philip Rivers. What should the strategy be for the Steelers going into the draft? If Rodgers doesn’t trust Roman Wilson, what does that mean for his future? Aditi talked about the Dolphins pre-snap motion that is ‘a lot of eye candy.’ Aditi gave a bit of a scouting report on the Dolphins as they come into town Monday night. She said the offensive line in Miami has been one of the best in football.

Donny Football Debrief – A New York Giants coach was fired over their bye week and the final straw was a pretty funny reason. And is it Kenny Pickett time in Vegas? The Raiders take on the Eagles Sunday afternoon.

A big question in the direction of Art Rooney II made its way to the Gerry Dulac chat. The answer gave us another example of the owner leaning back on the organization being better than the mean of the league. Does he hear the fans growing tired? Maybe. But Gerry gave a pretty good guess as to how Art would answer things – telling fans to get off their backs because they are in first place, just in nicer words. Does he make a point? The guys think the team is still stale and the owner should show more emotion more than just simply wanting them to win more than they lose, on average. It sounds like Art would puff his chest out because the Steelers have been in first place since the beginning of the season – which is factually incorrect. The guys pointed out some of the better teams in the league that are better than the Steelers, but they aren’t leading their own division.

Mike Florio from Pro Football Talk joined the show. The conversation started with Christmas cookies before it shifted to the Philip Rivers signing in Indianapolis. The 44-year-old was apparently always the backup plan in Indy if things went south with QB health, which it has after the Daniel Jones season-ending injury. If the Colts still make the playoffs and Rivers plays respectable football, should he win the Comeback Player of the Year award? Mike said there’s no way you can go back and act like the chants and boos didn’t happen in the game against the Bills. What if things go off the rails against the Dolphins? Mike said if Art Rooney is in some state of delusion, that’s not good for anybody. Mike believes you always have to have your finger on the pulse of the fanbase as an owner. The guys asked Mike about the catch rule and determining how the game ended in Baltimore on Sunday. Mike believes that Isaiah Likely play was a touchdown that the league missed and that the offices have gone a little rogue, which only confuses the viewer more. Mike dove into the gambling factor and is surprised Roger Goodell didn’t resign once they got into bed with all of the sportsbooks.

The Pirates made a signing last night, but it’s not one to get very excited about. Gregory Soto, a 2X All Star lefty reliever, isn’t knocking the guys’ socks off. Poni, a split-fan between the Pirates and Mets, said Soto was a terrible pitcher in New York. The guys spent time knocking this signing before jumping down the throat of Ben Cherington for another bad off-season move to add to the resume. The big question is – why is a left-handed reliever the first move the Pirates made?

Former MLB pitcher Matt Clement joined the show. Matt thinks the effort for Kyle Schwarber was ‘legit’ on the Pirates’ end, but getting him away from a big market like Philadelphia was already an uphill battle. He’s not sure what kind of offer would have lured Schwarber away from the Phillies. Did the Pirates have any chance at Pete Alonso and were they even interested? The guys asked Matt about the Scott Boras factor and if he will still push his clients to simply take the most money if that money is coming from the Pirates. Matt reacted to the Gregory Soto signing and thinks it’s a ‘great’ pickup for the bullpen that needed a left-handed reliever. Matt credited Ben Cherington for putting together a group that has a strong pitching staff, but certainly has holdups on what he has acquired offensively. Matt thinks there needs to be a conglomerate of hitters to turn things around.

Former Penguin Tyler Kennedy joined the show. TK reacted to the Penguins losing a game last night after giving up the tying goal with 0.1 seconds remaining. He said it happened because they never thought it would happen. Tyler feels like the team has lost a little bit of their swagger, specifically when they get into shootout situations, where they continue to lose. He said it takes one win for them in that spot to maybe get things rolling. TK talked about some of the things guys need to learn when approaching a shootout. Tyler deciphered the difference between going down the ice in a shootout versus doing it via a breakaway. TK said it’s all about a goalie being about to read the blade and puck placement.
