Are there legs to this? How much would it cost in draft capital? Even though the player is the best in the generation at his position, it’s difficult to justify giving away more than a 3rd round pick.

Former Steelers OC Todd Haley joined the show. Todd explained the Steelers’ end of game situation in which they passed the ball twice on 3 plays before kicking a field goal. Todd said when QBs are left the option, they will almost always pass the ball. He mentioned a ‘tag’ that is put on plays that serve as options for the QB. Todd discussed the idea of scoring a touchdown as quickly as possible versus leaving a certain amount of time on the clock. Coach said analytics misses the mark sometimes in game situations because a computer doesn’t always know what is going on live. Todd said Mike Tomlin ‘shot from the hip’ often as head coach – wanting to play to win. He credited Tomlin’s prep and general feel for the game. Todd talked about the chaotic nature of play-calling and why a lot of the young coaches aren’t quite ready for it. Todd reacted to the weird finish in San Fran last night, which was another odd gaffe from Jayden Daniels and Dan Quinn. Todd gave his take on the body language he saw from Aaron Rodgers on Sunday for the first few quarters. Todd is really excited about Germie Bernard and what he brings to the Steelers offense. He said the win in Tampa was 'huge’ given where things stood after the first 45 minutes. He thinks Bernard is a fearless player that can do a lot of different things. Todd confirmed what Rodgers said following the game – that there is very little game planning done at halftime and it is usually just guys hanging out. Todd adamantly pushed for the Steelers to go after Brian Thomas Jr. because he believes there is something special to unlock there. He can’t fathom why Thomas has been pushed out of the Jaguars offense and Omar Khan should do whatever it takes to grab him.
