93.7 The Fan Sports Director Jeff Hathhorn joined the show. Jeff said Beanie Bishop was the big story of today’s OTA session because of the video he posted on Instagram. Jeff backed up what Bishop did and thinks it’s good for rivalries in college football. Jeff said Bishop took it upon himself to speak, but the team didn’t force him to do so. Jeff doesn’t think this is a reason why Bishop could get cut – that would have to be due to on-field performance. Jeff had more love for Kaleb Johnson, who has been getting praise from multiple in the Pittsburgh media lately. How likely is it the Steelers sign Gabe Davis tomorrow? Minkah Fitzpatrick had some words as to why things went wrong on defense last season.

Ben Roethlisberger is trying to change the narrative on how he felt about Mason Rudolph when he was drafted in 2018. The guys went back in time a little bit to remember how it was when Rudolph first got here. Ben has a good relationship with several other backup QBs from his time, but Mason was not one of them. How is Mason looking in OTAs so far? A few insiders say he has been really showing signs of a starting QB.

Aditi brought up a story from one of her days on the sideline with CBS when Davis got upset on the sideline, but was happy to answer questions after the game. Aditi said she’s more excited about Roman Wilson and Calvin Austin than she is about Davis or another middling veteran receiver. Is the Jonnu Smith stuff mostly a play of the agent so the tight end can get a new deal or could he really end up with the Steelers? Some good media chatter as well.

Beanie Bishop made some news this morning when video of him surfaced stomping and wiping his feet all over the Pitt logo. The WVU man didn’t feel very bad for doing it either. The Morning Show, with guys on both the Pitt and West Virginia side of it, got explosive about it.

Fans were fired up over the logo disrespect.

Mike Florio from Pro Football Talk joined the show. Mike said, at this point, Aaron Rodgers should just wait it out until it’s mandatory. He expects the Steelers to immediately sign Allen Lazard once Rodgers does. Mike questioned if Rodgers will think differently of the situation if the Steelers sign Gabe Davis tomorrow. With Kirk Cousins, Mike thinks the best play by the Falcons would be to wait and see if their QB or another QB goes down to make a team desperate for a trade. Based on what we know now, Rodgers saying NO to the Steelers would be a rejection of Mike Tomlin more than anything else. It’s a clear attempt to win a Super Bowl, but there’s reason to wonder if they will even win a playoff game.
