We conclude our five part series on Magic, by examining the rise of the spiritualist movement. Stating in the 1840's in the Burned Over District of New York, spirit mediums who claimed to be in communication with the dead were to take their influence world wide. It's a phenomenon that continues to fascinate to this day. From the Fox sisters to such modern day psychics as John Edwards, this is a subject that explores how uncomfortable we are with the concept of death, and how easily grief can turn to exploitation.

Join Mike and Bill as they explore the world of the witch hunts. From King James the 1st and Matthew Hopkins the "Witch Finder General" to modern moral panics McCarthyism, The Satanic Panic and QAnon, witch hunts have never truly left us.
