What's going on in Afghanistan?
What is going on in Afghanistan? At the time of the making of this Podcast, the Americans, British, and everybody else seems to have pulled out, leaving the Taliban to regain control after 20 years. Is this a bad thing or a good thing. Well it depends on how you look at it. If you listen to this podcast you will get an idea on how I look at it, and it just might change how you look at it.
Just Lust
I had been living in Peru for 10 years and was married to my Peruvian wife Marie for the previous 8 years. We had a beautiful son named Henry and after spending the majority of our married life living with my wife’s mother we had saved up enough to buy our own place. It was an apartment in a gated apartment complex in the heart of Lima and it ticked all the boxes for me.I was working online at the time and my son had yet to start school. My wife would go out to work Monday to Friday leaving me to take care of Henry, and she would usually get home at about 6pm in the evenings and take over to allow me to start work.
During the day I would take Henry to the playground in the apartment complex, and he would play with the other kids around his age. One of the children he befriended was Simon who’s mother was also resident in the apartment complex. Her name was Venessa and she could speak perfect English, this was so good for me as I had become to feel a bit isolated after having to work from home and not getting to meet with any other English speakers. We would talk everyday, and it turned out that we had quite a it in common. She also worked online and she was also feeling a sense of isolation. She was originally from Aukland New Zealand, and as my Spanish was adequate at best, meeting Venessa was a gift.
I was born and bread in Atlanta, and I had moved to Peru on a work contract 10 years earlier with no intention to stay longer that a year. But as fate would have it I met and fell in love with Maria my wife and the rest was history.
Even though we met each morning and chatted, I had never seen Venessa without a face mask. But I could tell by the counters of her brow and the depth of her green eyes that she processed great beauty.
We met in the playground of the apartment complex every morning. She was a single mother of a 3 year old boy and himself and Henry had really hit it off.
Venessa and myself were hitting it off also, and I was allowing my mind to wander, imagining what it would be like to be with her. I would see her in the evening exercising around the permitter of the apartment complex, her limbs were in perfect proportion to the rest of her body, her breasts were sculptured and her hair was long black and silky. I found myself lusting after her. She was about 34 and I was 49, but despite this age difference I noticed that she was giving off all the signals that she was interested in me. What could go wrong????
Due to the COVID restrictions we were limited to meeting in the playground, but our conversations began to get deeper and more intimate.
One morning while our boys were playing together we were chatting as usual, I noticed her alter her gaze in a downward direction as if she was inspecting my body. I took full advantage of this and I didn’t try to disguise the fact that I was doing the same to her.
Suddenly our eyes met, and no words needed to be said. I wanted her and I could tell that she wanted me.
What could we do in the middle of a COVID crises? We were in virtual lockdown in the apartment complex. No bars, Cafes or restaurants were permitted to have seated customers. So we couldn’t go anywhere.
So I very quickly broke the deafening silence and asked for her WhatsApp. She willingly gave it to me, and with that we parted company and headed back to our respective apartments.
Later on that afternoon she messaged me to say that her mother-in-law had taken Simon off her hands for the afternoon, and would I mind if she dropped in for coffee at about 2:30pm.
I jumped at the chance, and told her that 2:30 pm would be perfect as Henry

Hello again and welcome to another podcast in our Audio Picture series. This is an Audio Picture with a difference, because this Audio Picture was painted in 1807 by William Wordsworth when he was recalling a walk with his sister two years earlier..
read along with me with the transcript below...
I wandered lonely as a cloud
That floats on high o'er vales and hills,
When all at once I saw a crowd,
A host, of golden daffodils;
Beside the lake, beneath the trees,
Fluttering and dancing in the breeze.
Continuous as the stars that shine
And twinkle on the milky way,
They stretched in never-ending line
Along the margin of a bay:
The thousand saw I at a glance,
Tossing their heads in sprightly dance.
The waves beside them danced; but they
Outdid the sparkling waves in glee:
A poet could not but be gay,
In such a jocund company:
I gazedand gazedbut little thought
What wealth the show to me had brought:
For oft, when on my couch I lie
In vacant or in pensive mood,
They flash upon that inward eye
Which is the bliss of solitude;
And then my heart with pleasure fills,
And dances with the daffodils.

If there is one thing certain in life that is death. If death is certain then ageing by default is a certainty. We can't escape our own mortality. We can't escape the ageing process, although some of us go to great efforts to disguise it, and some plastic surgeons are only too willing to help.
In this podcast I talk about the ageing process, and how it is manifesting itself to me in my mid to late 50s.
I talk about how with regular exercise and a controlled diet, we can manage the ageing process, and enjoy getting older.
Please consider following this channel, as I upload podcasts on various subjects daily.
Metric Time / Decimal Time
It may come as a surprise to you but the mathematical system that we use to tell the time today is based on the ancient Babylonian Mathematical system.
This system is known as the sexagesimal (Base 60) numerical system, and it is from this system we derive our 60 minutes per hour and 60 seconds per minute.
Well at the time of the French revolution the French had the idea of using Metric Time. The day was divided into 10 Decimal Hours. There were 100 Decimal Minutes in a Decimal Hour, and 100 Decimal Seconds in a Decimal Minute. They put this idea into practice in 1793 but it only lasted until 1805. If you want to know more about Metric Time and why we don't use it today, you will have to listen to this fascinating Podcast from The Podcast Guy.
