My first Podcast with a comic shop!

I sat down with Michael, Paul and Jade from Get Ready Comics to speak about passions, fandoms, collecting and what it’s like to work in a comic shop.

Their love for the world of comics, animation, gaming and pop-culture was fantastic and it was interesting to hear how a shop stays up to date with what customers want.

Get Ready Comics is based in Rochester and I can’t wait to visit them in 2024 and maybe even record an episode live in the shop…Having evolved over the years from a simple stall at markets and conventions, Get Ready Comics opened their first shop in Strood in 2014 and in 2016 moved location to right in the heart of historic Rochester. 

Get Ready Comics is working to establish themselves as a popular comic book shop in Medway.

When two international Superman fans start talking it is hard for us to stop…

It is official…I have interviewed Superman and Wonder Woman together!

Our Superhero Life ( Barry and Laura Ash) are wonderful cosplayers who attend Comic Cons/charity events and are an actual power couple! We talked about everything from dating, 

It was great to learn about how they came to be, the work they do and what cosplaying means to them. The two heroes also talked about the importance of self-care and how looking after your mental health is essential.

It was an honour to speak with Barry and Laura and I know they will be back on the show soon.

Big question...In or out of the box?

Recently I was granted early access to watch this new documentary from DC Comics. Each episode is filled with fascination information, footage and interviews with the talented heroes that have worked for DC Comics over the decades.

Watching this series has given me a closer connection to the heroes and stories I’ve enjoyed over the years. I now have even more respect for the talented creators who have worked behind the scenes.

Superpowered: The DC Story launches on Max on the 20th of July.

I’ve been a fan of Rym Slim’s art for many years and it was great to sit down and talk about his journey and about his life as an artist.

We talked about finding his style, plagiarism, learning through practice and about how his work has evolved.
