Art by name, art by nature.

As soon as I met Art Baltazar at the 2018 Superman Celebration in Metropolis, Illinois I knew I had to interview him and find out more about his life in comics.

He is a comic artist, writer, comic shop owner and a force to be reckoned with! His art style is as unique as his personality and to be able to listen to his origin story and life in comics was fascinating.

Throughout Art’s life so many hurdles have been put in his way but through sheer determination and faith in himself he has become a world famous cartoonist who is recognised for his talent, tenacity and style! This interview has shown me that by having belief in yourself, and by having people around you who support you, nothing can hold you back.

We talked a lot about Superman (of course!) and I loved hearing about how "Superman Of Smallville" came to be and the moment that Art discovered he would be bringing my hero to life.

I am looking forward to seeing what Art releases next. I REALLY want to see more of "Superman Of Smallville" and "ArkhamManiacs" sounds like it is going to be so much fun!

DC Fandome was an incredibly exciting night for DC Comics fans. There was something for everybody. Movies, games, merchandise, cosplay. It was quite overwhelming the amount of content that was shared but over 8 hours I soaked it all in and tried to compose myself!

I watched the events with friends, bloggers and followers from all over the world and it made the online event feel even more inclusive. At a time where Comic-Cons are not happening, DC Comics put on an event that really helped entertain the world and made us all feel a little bit more connected through our passions.

On this special episode of The Podcast Of Steel my guest is one of those who joined me in my DC Comics Zoom Room (I like how that sounds!). Mike is a great friend and we had a lot of fun watching the trailers and the panels together. We talk about our personal highlights from FanDome, the future of DC’s movie/games/shows and what it means to be a fan.

Erin LoCascio’s Instagram feed is always filling my feed with colour and excitement and I am so glad she agreed to be a guest on the show as I had a lot to ask her!

Erin is an artist, collector, cosplayer, an ambassador for geek culture and is a producer for SyFy Wire. I am glad she was able to find the time to talk with me!

On this episode of The Podcast Of Steel I had a great chat with artist Christopher Jones. Christopher has worked on many titles and he may even be one of the youngest comic artists ever to be published in print!

I loved hearing Christopher talk with passion about the heroes and villains he brings to life and I could have listened to him talk about his time working on the hit animation “Young Justice”.

It is so insightful to speak with comic creators about their careers is fascinating as you get to dive into their history and how they have grown as both an artist and a fan.

I enjoy asking every guest that comes onto the show “What does Superman mean to you?” and the answer that Christopher gave was perfect.

Speaking with Christopher was so much fun and I am really looking forward to when he can come back on and talk more about Season 4 of “Young Justice”!

The Death Of Superman is a story that is known around the world and one that is hard to forget. It has been homaged, referenced, parodied and animated. It is one of THE greatest Superman stories ever told and when Dan Jurgens (Comic Book Royalty!) kindly agreed to be a guest on The Podcast Of Steel I already knew what I wanted to ask.

I have been following Tim Sheridan’s writing career for quite some time and I am always happy for him when and exciting opportunities come his way. The man simply gets comics, heroes and story-writing so when we arranged a date for a Podcast chat I had a list of things I wanted to discuss!

On this episode Tim talked so passionately about working on Justice League Action and with so many members of the “Tucker-Verse”. We also talked about Tim’s time working on Reign Of The Supermen and how it was almost meant to be that he was the one who wrote it.

As you all know, Superman is my hero. If you don’t know that, pay attention! Tim and I had spent a lot of time fanboying over our shared love of Supes and hearing him speak so eloquently and passionately about my boy is why I have so much faith in Tim’s future projects.

On this episode of #ThePodcastOfSteel I was joined by dozens of guests! Superman, General Hawk, Megatron, Vandal Savage all joined me, and a few more!

Well, just one really but over the years David Kaye has voiced so many characters in cartoons, films and video games that it felt like I had a whole gang of guests joining me.

We talked all about how he got into voice acting, his most loved roles and how bringing a character to life with just your voice is challenging but so rewarding.

It was fascinating to listen to David’s answers and exciting when he suddenly became the character he was talking about. I could see him physically change into someone else! I am fascinated by the work of voice acting and speaking with David was informative and fun.

Earlier this year I began talking with Jimmy Palmiotti on Twitter about his comics, passions and his life in the industry and we finally met in person at the Birds Of Prey world premiere and it was a great moment. Recently I asked Jimmy if he would like to come on to my Podcast and talk about his career in comics and also his latest story, Pop Kill.
