Question of the Week: Long winded question, do you think the director of a marvel film even matters? Giving that it's styled like a tv series and in most tv shows the director doesn't really do much but direct the actors as the crew is consistent and do the same setups for action, location, whatever. And in most cases it is the showrunner that has the final say in the script and direction and in this case it is Kevin feige. Might be the reason why they choose directors who haven't made much of a mark and given that they know this will be largely out of their hands they do it so they can do another bigger budget film later. e.g. Taika Waititi. Might explain why Sam Raimi is going to do this to get out of career jail and why Scott Derickson didn't want to do it again. Are there any Marvel films that have a distinct directors imprint on the film other than GOTG or Ragnarok? - Jake Trevaskis
