Larry Perkins, is an icon of Australian motorsport, a 6-time Bathurst winner, who in 2021, was recognised with an order of Australia for his services to Australian motorsport. Larry joins us on The Podium to talk about the second round of the Supercars Championship at Albert Park, which saw drivers competing for the Larry Perkins Trophy. F1 driver for the McLaren Formula 1 team, Oscar Piastri is the hottest young talent in Australian motorsport. In 2020, Oscar joined us on The Podium in what was his first-ever long-form interview to talk about his passion for motorsport whilst growing up in Melbourne. Oscar also talked about the huge move to Europe, which has seen him win races at some of the world's most prestigious race tracks, and his spectacular rise through the junior categories on the road to F1. The McLaren driver also shares with us what manager and former F1 driver Mark Webber is like as a mentor, what he hopes to achieve in the future, and the advice he has for young drivers hoping to make it to the top in motorsport.
Reserve F1 driver for the Alpine Formula 1 team, Jack Doohan, is one of the up-and-coming talents to watch out for in Australian motorsport. In 2020 Jack joined us on The Podium to talk about his career at length. Jack tells us the story about how he received his very first go-kart from F1 Icon Michael Schumacher, Jack also shares what it was like growing up as the son of former motorcycle champion Mick Doohan, and his climb to the top of the motorsport ladder.
