The words you are about to hear came pouring out one afternoon on the drive home. I was thinking about a few conversations I had with a couple friends about some difficult choices, and what experiencing depression feels like. Sometimes you don't always have answers to questions like "What's wrong?". Sometimes you can't bear to hear another piece of advice meant to minimize and dismiss you. So if you struggle with depression as I do, I send these words with many hugs and a kiss too.

Sometimes who we come to know ourselves as is worlds away from that person our family thinks they know. I never believed many who said they loved me, especially in cases where I never gave them all of me to love. I was waiting for them to prove themselves worthy, but too many conditions came with all of the above. This is part one of an intimate conversation with a friend whom I've bonded with through shared assignments, finals, and a teacher who was always late.
