  • 104. Rae Monet

Rae Monet, the eclectic muse creates spiritually, sexually, sensually; activating the collective “Inna G”. Her soulful, psychedelic sound coalesces stimulating textures and bluesy melodies with sultry vocals to soothe the aching soul. As a poet, the same applies, as her music is riddled with flows rooted in prose. Tonight she shares two songs from her upcoming album, as well as poetry and good conversation.

Follow Rae on IG @raemonet_ and find links to more of her work here.

In 2011 he moved to Boulder, CO where he’s been ever since organizing local community art events and working the regional music festivals while developing a sustainable poetry brand.

This is Mitch writing now. Just to be clear and to cover my ass: don't take financial advice from podcasts. DYOR, YMMV, etc.

  • 100. Sojo

Sojo (So-Joe) is a multimedia artist who is passionate about investing herself into many forms of creation. Her favorites art forms include: poetry, collage, music, fashion, up-cycling found materials, tie-dye, photography, videography, as well as combining poetry and collage together. Sojo is involved in a wide variety of circles, so you can catch her around the city most days of the week at open mics, art events and exhibitions, anything funky or jazzy, the thrift store, or frolicking around town in style. 20. 95. The Parlance Poets
I’m joined by JohnnyOsi, Stone, Manon Nadeau, and Ezra Bram to discuss competing at the 2024 Utah Arts Festival slam, in which they placed as finalists. We chat about the competition, challenges and successes, highs and lows, their process both as a group and individuals preparing to compete, and much more. We also talk about slam in general, the Poetry Parlance and what it gave birth to (this team), and their vision for the future of slam poetry in Denver, which they hope even includes other poets earning their spots on the team. Lots more to come—keep coming to events in Denver, especially the Sunday Slam at the Mercury Cafe and the Poetry Parlance on Saturdays (Johnny’s got the details on meeting places each week) to meet the Parlance Poets and find out how you can be a part of their vision.
