In this episode we read through the Department of War's Press Release on the pause of CMMC Phase II requirements and explore what this pause could mean for the future of the Defense Industrial Base. We also look at the reaction of government agencies like the SBA to see what the reasoning was behind the suspension, and if this could be beneficial for the DIB moving forward.

In this episode we take another look at real cases involving export compliance. Where last episode we focused on the success of due diligence and compliance procedures, this episode focuses on where companies failed to follow export regulations and their violations resulted in penalties from BIS. The importance of end use/user checks and reviewing red flags cannot be overstated!

Given the rising tensions, military movements, and ongoing negotiations around Nuclear disarmament I decided to provide another in-depth analysis of our current Sanctions and Export Control stance we have towards Iran. This episode focuses on our overall ITAR, EAR, and OFAC regulations as well as the government guidance for industry surrounding Iran's Ballistic Missile Procurement Advisory. With the United States now engaged in military strikes along with Israel against Iran, our country's security is more important than ever.

In this episode I take a critical look at the newly released BIS rule for selling NVIDIA H200 Chips to China. What does the rule actually lay out, and is this an effective policy that will protect American technology and interests? I break down why I think this rule falls short.

In this episode I cover a topic that has been weighing on my mind in recent months. China has dominated the news cycle, and it seems to me that the United State's posture towards China is weakening. From the postponed Affiliates Rule to allowing the sale of NVIDIA H200 Chips, I cover what I view is a concerning trend of appeasement towards China, and how it negatively affects the U.S. and the broader status quo.

A government shutdown certainly didn't slow the news cycle this month. This month was filled with deals, deals, and other trade issues, primarily focused on critical minerals and rare earth metals. I take a brief look at all of those deals (unless another new one came out after I finished!) and a few other stories that made the headlines this month on Russia and Canada. What's the breakdown of these new deals, what's in them, what do they aim to accomplish? Tune in and find out.
