But when you line yourself up with others and start making evaluations based on these similarities and contrasts, we quickly succumb to depression or become inflated with pride. We return to Moses, and the comparisons others were making between themselves and him, to see the futility in gauging our personal worth or spiritual success by each other as a standard.
