The Poison of Jealousy

Jealousy tears at the soul like nothing else—a spiritual corrosion that Scripture describes as "rottenness to the bones" and "cruel as the grave." These aren't mere metaphors but profound truths I've witnessed time and again throughout my life.

My spirit has been deeply troubled by the recent tragedy involving Christopher Arsenault, who lost his life in a fire at his cat sanctuary in Long Island. When stories grip my heart this way, I've learned to recognize it as a spiritual sensitivity to the darkness behind human actions. Too often, when someone builds something beautiful and meaningful, others who cannot match that achievement resort to destructive behaviors born of pure envy.

We see jealousy everywhere—in workplaces where colleagues stare you down with barely concealed resentment, in churches where fellow singers try to outperform you, and even in families where siblings cannot celebrate each other's success. The jealous person convinces themselves their target deserves to be taken down, justifying actions they would otherwise find unthinkable. They lie, they destroy reputations, and in extreme cases, they cause devastating harm.

This podcast may be different from others—sometimes recorded outdoors with ambient sounds, sometimes with music, sometimes just with my raw thoughts—but my message remains clear: if you recognize jealousy within yourself, pray for healing before it consumes you completely. What you plant through jealous actions will eventually bear fruit in your own life. Contact me at [email protected] and please share this message with someone who needs to hear it today.
