Aaron and Josh Sarnecky are here to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Dora the Explorer.
Dora the Explorer is an animated children’s show created by Chris Gifford, Valerie Walsh Valdes, and Eric Weiner. The series premiered on August 14, 2000 on Nickelodeon’s Nick Jr. block. The series ran for 177 episodes. The show officially ended in 2019, after a multi-year hiatus.
The series centers on a 7-year-old Latina girl named Dora (Kathleen Herles, Caitlin Sanchez, Fátima Ptacek) and her talking monkey friend Boots (Harrison Chad, Regan Mizrahi, Koda Gursoy). Dora and Boots travel wide and far, teaching viewers Spanish along the way. The duo is regularly confronted by Swiper (Marc Weiner), a mischievous fox that tries to hide their items.
Dora the Explorer has grown into a multimedia franchise with shows, movies, and games. In other countries, Dora is often dubbed to teach viewers English. Dora, the latest show, is streaming on Paramount+. The explorer hit the big screen in the live action Dora and the Lost City of Gold.
Aaron and Josh touch briefly upon the 1999 Dora the Explorer pilot before going into the series proper. They talk about the show’s educational value, its animation, and its legacy. They also discuss the new Paramount+ show.
For more Nick Jr., you can listen to Aaron and Josh’s podcast on Gullah Gullah Island.

Welcome to “Not Couple Goals” where co-hosts Allie Nelson and Tyler McCarthy do a deep dive into a different ridiculous romantic thriller from the vantage point of their long-term relationship.
Allie, a TV writer/producer and actress, has an affinity for romantic thrillers, the more salacious the better. Tyler, an entertainment reporter and critic, often finds himself drawn in despite his better judgment. Join them as they explore all the ways it’s possible to love too hard… like WAY too hard.
In this episode, Allie and Tyler discuss the oddly tonally shifting 1989 movie “War of the Roses,” starring their sarcastic favorite, Michael Douglass, and their actual favorite, Kathleen Turner - Danny DeVito is there too. Join them as they track the end of this marriage, unpack why anyone would be attracted to yet another Michael Douglass character and get on a weird tangent about HPV and “The Simpsons.”
Special thanks to Mallory Johns for the introduction music.

Welcome to TV Break, where Pop Break’s Podcasts Editor Alex Marcus is joined by editor-in-chief Bill Bodkin, and TV Columnist Josh Sarnecky to talk about the happenings in television.
Here’s the format of the show:
Newsbreak – This month, they discuss all the latest news swirling around Paramount as SkyDance’s merger goes into effect, including looming layoffs, strategic streaming pivots, Colbert’s firing, South Park’s revolt, and more.
Streaming Wars – Alex, Bill, & Josh pick a streamer they think “won the month” based on new shows airing/upcoming shows announced etc. This month, everyone backed a different streamer, with Josh giving props to AppleTV Plus for its Emmy Nomination successes, including big support for Severance and The Studio, F1’s box office success, and the news that The Holiday is being rebooted for the service.
Meanwhile, Bill handed his crown over to Netflix, thanks to the continued cultural dominance of KPop Demon Hunters, Stranger Things, and Happy Gilmore 2, and Alex celebrates the triumphant return of HBO Max.
Anime Takeover – This month instead of highlighting current TV, the guys take a look back at a few anime series that hold a special place in each of their hearts. Episodes discussed include Digimon S1E39 “The Battle for Earth”, My Hero Academia S1E13 “In Each of Our Hearts”, and Demon Slayer S1E19 “Hinokami”. The episode ends with a more robust look back at Demon Slayer Season 1.
