Hello and welcome to Bill vs the MCU! Each month your hosts Pop Break Podcasting Director Alex Marcus and Pop Break Editor in Chief Bill Bodkin are taking another step into the wider Marvel Multiverse as the MCU dives deeper into their Multiverse Saga.
Bill & Alex spent all of 2022 rewatching the first four phases of the MCU, and they just spent 2023 covering the first phase of Netflix’s The Defenders Saga and the first four seasons of ABC’s Agents of SHIELD. This season, they are journeying into Fox’s X-Verse with their X-Treme X-Watch as they prepare for Deadpool & Wolverine this July.
In their penultimate episode before Deadpool & Wolverine releases, they try to make sense of a very disparate series of films centering explicitly on James “Logan” Howlett aka Wolverine. That’s right, they will be discuss 2009’s X-Men Origins: Wolverine, 2013’s The Wolverine, and 2017’s Logan.
Watch along with us! Next month's titles are Deadpool, and Deadpool 2 (available to stream on Disney+).

Hello and welcome to Pop Break TV’s brand new sometimes podcast: Saturday Morning Adventures, where contributors to ThePopBreak.com and their friends kick back, tune in, and zone out to the kids cartoons that defined their childhoods and the ones that are still giving them life today.
For the next ten weeks, this podcast will be led by Pop Break Podcasting Director Alex Marcus and K Anderson, the host of the wonderful interview podcast Lost Spaces, as they give you instant reactions to every episode of X-Men ‘97, the Disney Plus revival of the beloved 1992 classic X-Men: The Animated Series.
This week, Alex & K take the long view on the season as its three part finale kicks off. Then, they break down the Summers’ Family drama, a few incredible action set pieces, the big bad reveal, and how Val Cooper fits into all of it. They close out the show with a bit of speculation as to where this is all headed and what season two might look like.
Tune into X-Men ‘97’s next episode this Wednesday only on Disney Plus and then check to this feed Saturday morning to hear just what Alex & K had to say!
Welcome to “Not Couple Goals” where co-hosts Allie Nelson and Tyler McCarthy do a deep dive into a different ridiculous romantic thriller from the vantage point of their long-term relationship.
Allie, a TV writer/producer and actress, has an affinity for romantic thrillers, the more salacious the better. Tyler, an entertainment reporter and critic, often finds himself drawn in despite his better judgment. Join them as they explore all the ways it’s possible to love too hard… like WAY too hard.
In their first episode on their new home on The Pop Break feed, Allie and Tyler discuss the 2024 movie “Miller’s Girl” starring Martin Freeman and Jenna Ortega. Join them as they bang the drum that there are simply no heroes in this movie, break down the accents that went in and out on this movie and, of course, decide if it was sexy enough for them. Can a movie that’s wall-to-wall literary dialogue be a turn-on? Listen and find out.
Special thanks to Mallory Johns for the introduction music.

Welcome to TV Break, where Pop Break’s Podcasts Editor Alex Marcus is joined by editor-in-chief Bill Bodkin, and TV Columnist Josh Sarnecky to talk about the happenings in television.
Here’s the format of the show:
The Best Thing I Saw on TV Last Month – Alex, Bill, & Josh talk about a show/episode/event they liked from the last month including FX’s Shogun, Disney Plus’s X-Men ‘97 and Bluey, Max’s The Girls on the Bus, and Prime Video’s Fallout.
News Break – Alex, Bill, and Josh react to the news that Amazon and Disney may have just boxed out Warner Bros. Discovery in the fight over NBA broadcast rights.
Streaming Wars – Alex, Bill, & Josh pick a streamer they think “won the month” based on new shows airing/upcoming shows announced etc. Bill & Alex both gave the month to Disney Plus on the back of its buzzy series like Shogun, X-Men ‘97, Bluey, and Star Wars: The Bad Batch, and its successful Hulu integration.
Meanwhile, Josh gave it to Netflix, thanks to, among other things, the triumphant return of Is This Cake?.
New Series Spotlight – Alex, Bill, & Josh review Dead Boy Detectives, Netflix’s adaptation of the comic book characters created by Neil Gaimon & Matt Wagner. The series was created by Supernatural & The Flight Attendant writer Steve Yockey, and stars George Rexstrew & Jayden Revri as the titular Dead Boy Detectives and Kassius Nelson as their new psychic friend Crystal Palace.

This week, Alex & K catch up with the rest of the team as they are reeling following the events in Genosia in episode five. They debate whether Rogue’s arc is conventional or compelling, whether Beast’s tough talk is impactful or a fleeting feeling of frustration, whether this is really the best use of Jubilee, and whether the Scott and Jean dynamic is feeling too onesided. Then, Alex honors the once and future Dazzler, Taylor Swift, by pairing the main cast of X-Men with songs from Taylor’s brand new album, The Tortured Poets Department. Check out the link to the Spotify playlist of all the songs listed!
