The couples jet off for a couple’s retreat in Hilton Head, South Carolina.Jacob is the first to arrive and he doesn’t waste any time in serving himself some eggs, claiming to forget Haley was planning to cook dinner for the group. Erik, Virginia, Vincent, and Briana make dinner talk a little awkward as they discuss their post experiment living arrangements.

Married at First Sight: Atlanta Episode 14  (Aired April 14, 2021)

Dr. Pepper is back again to go over a few tweaks that could help some get over a few hurdles leading to decision day. The couples were instructed to share an activity from their childhoods in order to better understand their spouses. Both Clara and Erik visited their childhood home, Virginia played basketball, Vincent enjoyed some traditional Dominican cuisine, Briana tapped danced, and Jacob played at the batting cage. Has this trip down memory lane changed anyone’s mind on if they should stay married?

Game of Thrones ran on HBO from April 17, 2011 to May 19, 2019, for a total of eight seasons and 73 episodes. Created by David Benioff and D.B. Weiss, it is an adaptation of George R.R. Martin’s fantasy novel series A Song of Ice and Fire. In the series a multitude of characters vie for control on the continent of Westeros. Most factions in Game of Thrones are commanded by noble houses, chief among them the Starks of the North, the Lannisters of the South, and the exiled Targaryens who used to rule the Seven Kingdoms. Meanwhile, in the uppermost region of Westeros, humanoid Ice creatures called White Walkers build their army, enslaving the dead to their will.

During its run Game of Thrones became the most popular show in the world and garnered 160 Emmy nominations and 59 wins, including four Outstanding Supporting Actor wins for Peter Dinklage (X-Men: Days of Future Past) for his portrayal of Tyrion Lannister and Outstanding Drama Series wins for Seasons 5 through 8. The latter fact comes in spite of the extremely divisive final season.

In the series premiere, “Winter Is Coming,” King Robert Baratheon (Mark Addy, The Full Monty) asks his friend Lord Eddard “Ned” Stark (Sean Bean, Snowpiercer) to become Hand of the King, the second most powerful person in Westeros. Complicating matters for an already reluctant Ned is a conspiracy involving the murder of the previous Hand. Over on the continent of Essos, Princess Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke, Last Christmas), daughter of Westeros’ overthrown “Mad King,” marries warlord Khal Drogo (Jason Mamoa, Zack Snyder’s Justice League) in hopes that his warriors will help her family reclaim the Iron Throne.

In the podcast Josh and Aaron talk about “Winter Is Coming” before going into their feelings on the series as a whole. The brothers go into their favorite parts of the show, its low points and controversies, and whether or not they’re interested in the Game of Thrones spinoffs in the works.

Dog dads’ matter! This week’s episode shines a light on the husbands becoming acclimated to being the father to their wife’s fur babies. Vincent, Ryan, and Jacob took on their roll with ease, whereas Erik and Chris were a little less enthusiastic. We also learn that Clara is at her breaking point of providing Ryan oral transactions with no return on her deposits.

News Break – Alex, Bill, and Josh discuss AT&T’s foolhardy attempt to ring every last penny out of the Game of Thrones IP, after it was recently announced that SIX new GOT series are in active development for HBOMAX.

Streaming Wars – Alex, Bill, and Josh pick a streamer they think “won the month” based on new shows airing/upcoming shows announced etc. Bill & Alex decided Disney+ won the month thanks to their trio of buzzy Marvel shows, their successful launch of Might Ducks: Game Changers and Raya and the Last Dragon, and the news Pixar’s Luca and Marvel’s Black Widow are both slated to debut on the service this summer. Meanwhile, Josh stood up for HBOMAX on the strength of their many buzzy trailers and the surprisingly well received Zack Snyder’s Justice League.
